Description

Noise Reducing Structure for Motor Driven Power Steering

The present invention relates to a structure of an electric power steering system, and more particularly, to a technology for reducing noise generated between gears forming a path for transmitting power generated from a generated motor to a steering shaft.

Conventional electric power steering is classified according to the installation position of the motor in various ways, Figure 1 shows an example of a column type electric power steering is installed in the steering shaft of the motor.

That is, the worm wheel 2 is integrally mounted on the outer circumference of the steering shaft 1 connected to the steering wheel, and the worm gear 3 meshing with the worm wheel 2 is formed on the worm gear shaft 3a. The worm gear shaft 3a is rotatably supported by bearings 4a and 4b at both ends thereof, and the worm gear shaft 3a is connected to receive rotational force from the motor 5 via the coupling 6. have.

The worm gear 3 and the worm wheel 2 constitute a reducer which reduces the rotational speed of the drive motor 5 and transmits the steering gear 1 to the steering shaft 1.

If the state of engagement between the worm gear 3 and the worm wheel 2 is not maintained stably, the worm gear 3 and the worm wheel 2 may be driven by a load inputted in reverse through the steering shaft 1 in the case of a bad road driving or the like. Rattle noise is generated when gears collide with each other.

Accordingly, when the worm gear 3 shaft and the worm wheel 2 are provided with a fixed positional relationship, the worm wheel 2 may be greatly reduced, but the worm wheel 2 may be reduced. Usually, the worm wheel 2 has a property of expanding itself when absorbing moisture, so that the relative position of the worm gear 3 shaft and the worm wheel 2 is fixed constantly. In this case, a state in which the worm gear 3 and the worm wheel 2 are sandwiched with each other may occur.

Thus, by supporting the worm gear (3) shaft to the worm wheel (2) at an appropriate level elastically, the worm gear (2) and the worm wheel (2) to cope with the expansion by the moisture absorption of the worm wheel (2). Rattle noise should be eliminated by removing the gap between the worm wheel, and if it is supported by an excessively strong elastic force, the steering feeling will be reduced due to the increased friction between the worm wheel 2 and the worm gear 3, and thus the worm wheel 2 and It should be possible to provide an appropriate level of elastic force between the worm gears (3).

The present invention has been made in accordance with the necessity as described above, by allowing the worm gear shaft to elastically support the worm wheel in a relatively simple configuration, to flexibly respond to the expansion of the worm wheel by moisture absorption to ensure a stable state of engagement continuously In addition, to remove the play between the worm gear and the worm wheel so as not to generate a rattle noise, and also to provide an appropriate level of elasticity to prevent a drop in steering by increasing the friction between the worm wheel and the worm gear. It is an object to provide a noise reduction structure of an electric power steering.

The noise reduction structure of the electric power steering of the present invention devised to achieve the object as described above is

A worm wheel coupled to the steering shaft;

A worm gear shaft having a worm gear meshed with the worm wheel;

A tilt bearing for supporting one end of the worm gear shaft while allowing the worm gear shaft to rotate toward the worm wheel;

A support bearing for supporting the other end of the worm gear shaft;

An elliptical ring having an elliptical inner diameter portion for accommodating the movement of the support bearing when rotating toward the worm wheel of the worm gear shaft;

A slide pin installed to penetrate the elliptical ring so as to press the support bearing in a direction pushing the worm gear shaft toward the worm wheel;

A first elastic member installed to provide an elastic force for supporting the reaction force received from the support bearing;

A second elastic member installed in parallel to the first elastic member to provide the slide pin with an elastic force different from the first elastic member;

Characterized in that configured to include.

The present invention by elastically supporting the worm gear shaft toward the worm wheel in a relatively simple configuration, to flexibly respond to the expansion by the moisture absorption of the worm wheel to ensure a stable engagement state, as well as between the worm gear and the worm wheel By eliminating the play of the rattle noise to prevent the occurrence of noise, and also to provide an appropriate level of elasticity to prevent the steering feeling from falling due to the increased friction between the worm wheel and the worm gear.

2 to 4, an embodiment of the present invention includes a worm wheel 12 coupled to a steering shaft 10; A worm gear shaft 16 having a worm gear 14 engaged with the worm wheel 12; A tilt bearing (18) for supporting one end of the worm gear shaft (16) while allowing the worm gear shaft (16) to rotate toward the worm wheel (12); A support bearing 20 for supporting the other end of the worm gear shaft; An elliptical ring (22) having an elliptical inner diameter portion for accommodating the movement of the support bearing upon rotation toward the worm wheel of the worm gear shaft; A slide pin (24) installed to penetrate the elliptical ring to press the support bearing in a direction pushing the worm gear shaft toward the worm wheel; A first elastic member 25 installed to allow the slide pin 24 to provide an elastic force for supporting the reaction force received from the support bearing 20; And a second elastic member 26 installed in parallel with the first elastic member 25 to provide the slide pin 24 with an elastic force different from the first elastic member 25.

In the present embodiment, the first elastic member 25 is formed in a columnar shape arranged in a row on the upper side of the slide pin 24 along the longitudinal direction of the slide pin 24, the second elastic member ( 26 is formed in the outer side of the second elastic member 26 in the longitudinal direction of the slide pin 24 and made of a coil spring having a weaker elastic force than the first elastic member 25.

An upper side of the slide pin 24 is integrally provided with a spring sheet 28 in which one end of the second elastic member 26 is inserted and supported, and the first elastic member 25 and the second elastic member 26 are integrally provided. The upper end of the) is provided with a plug 30 for simultaneously supporting the upper end of the first elastic member 25 and the second elastic member 26.

That is, the plug 30 is fixed to the case 32 in which the worm wheel, the worm gear shaft, and the motor for driving the worm gear shaft are installed together, so that the first elastic member 25 and the second elastic member 26 are formed. By fixing the upper end at once, the elastic force of the first elastic member 25 and the elastic force of the second elastic member 26 are to be provided to the support bearing 20 in parallel.

In the noise reduction structure of the electric power steering of the present invention configured as described above, the second elastic member having a relatively weak elastic force with respect to a change in which the worm wheel 12 absorbs moisture, expands, or dries and shrinks relatively. (26) acts to maintain the engagement state between the worm wheel and the worm gear in a proper and stable state, the first elastic member 25 for the rattle noise due to the external force input through the steering shaft (10) Is supported by a relatively strong elastic force, thereby preventing unnecessary play between the worm wheel and the worm gear to suppress the occurrence of rattle noise.

Of course, the overall elastic force provided by the first elastic member and the second elastic member maintains a state capable of transmitting power smoothly between the worm gear and the worm wheel, so that a stable and smooth steering feeling can be formed.
