A flame retardant composition for a decoration sheet, and a decoration sheet containing the composition are provided to improve fireproofing property without the deterioration of compatibility, processability and mechanical properties. A flame retardant composition for a decoration sheet comprises 1-30 parts by weight of a silicate; 1-40 parts by weight of a phosphorus-based flame retardant; 2-70 parts by weight of at least one kind of hydroxide selected from aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide; and optionally 1-10 parts by weight of antimony trioxide. A decoration sheet comprises 100 parts by weight of a poly(vinyl chloride) resin; and 10-40 parts by weight of the flame retardant composition.
