An image display method of a mobile terminal is provided to enlarge and display a particular portion of an image being reproduced, to thus provide only a user desired portion as an image. A controller reproduces a broadcast image received through a broadcast receiving unit or an image stored in a storage unit(S210). When a particular portion select signal is inputted(S220), the controller enlarges a particular portion of an image selected by the select signal(S230) and controls its transparency to edit the image(S240). The controller designates the edited image as a background image and displays the image together with an original image(S250,S260).
