A deck locking mechanism for a freight vehicle is provided to restrict the maximum rotational angle of a catch cover by installing a wire between a pin and the catch cover. A deck locking mechanism for a freight vehicle comprises a handle(20) and a catch cover(30). The handle is connected to a bracket(10), which is fixed to a deck of the freight vehicle, through a pin(40) such that the handle rotates upward and downward. The catch cover is formed with a catch hole(31) at one side thereof and rotates at a middle portion of the handle. The pin is connected with the catch cover through a wire(100), so that the maximum rotational angle of the catch cover is restricted. The wire has a length to the extent that the maximum rotational angle of the catch cover is restricted to 40°.
