Abstract

A method for controlling power of a computer in a remote place is provided to enable a user to control the power of the computer and a related device remotely by programming a remote controller of a TV reception card. A user determines a power control procedure by separating power control using a program and hardware. The power control procedure includes turn-off, a maximum power saving mode, and a power saving mode set in the computer, and is controlled by pressing buttons included in a remote controller of the TV reception card.
