Claims (5)
- 광원;과상기 광원에 인접하여 배치된 제1편광판;과상기 제1편광판으로부터 출사된 광이 입사되는 입사면을 가지며 상기 입사면을 통해 입사된 광이 상부로 출사되도록 가이드하는 것으로서, 제1기판 및 상기 제1기판의 하부에 마련되어 제1방향의 편광을 상기 제1기판 쪽으로 출사시키는 편광분리층을 구비한 일체형 도광판;과상기 일체형 도광판의 상부에 배치된 액정층;과상기 액정층의 상부에 마련되는 제2기판;상기 제2기판의 상부에 마련되어 상기 제1방향과 직교하는 제2방향의 편광을 투과시키는 제2편광판;을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광분리층은,광학적 등방성 재료로 이루어진 미세패턴층; 및상기 미세패턴층 위에 형성되는 것으로 상기 제1편광의 광에 대해서 큰 굴절률을 갖는 이방성 물질로 이루어진 이방성물질층;을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 미세패턴층은 미세 프리즘 어레이인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서,상기 미세패턴층의 굴절률은 상기 제1편광 이외의 편광에 대한 상기 이방성물질층의 굴절률과 같은 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 일체형 도광판의 하부에는 상기 제1방향 이외의 방향으로 편광되어 상기 편광분리층의 하부로 향하는 광을 흡수하는 흡수판이 더 구비되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
