Claims (9)
- 광학 이방성층, 상기 광학 이방성층 상에 적층된 투명지지체 및 상기 투명지지체 상에 적층된 편광필름을 포함하는 광학필름으로서, 상기 광학 이방성층이 디스코틱 액정성 화합물로 이루어진 것이고, 상기 투명지지체는 광학적으로 이축성 필름이며, 상기 투명지지체의 굴절율이 최대인 축이 상기 편광필름의 흡수축과 수직이고, 상기 투명지지체의 굴절율이 최대인 축이 상기 광학 이방성층의 광축을 필름 면상에 투사한 방향과 평행 또는 수직인 것인 광학필름.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광학이방성층은 두께 방향에 따라서 광축이 점진적으로 변화하는 하이브리드(hybrid) 배향을 하며, 하기 특성을 갖는 것인 광학필름:0.1 mm ≤ 두께 ≤ 10 mm50도 ≤ θ ≤90도0도 ≤ θ' ≤50도-0.5 ≤ 광학 이방성(Δn = ne-no) ≤ -0.03상기 식에 있어서, θ는 투명지지체면에서의 디스코틱 액정 필름의 광축과 투명지지체면이 이루는 각도이고, θ'는 TN-LCD 패널쪽에서 디스코틱 액정 필름의 광축과 TN-LCD 패널면이 이루는 각도이다.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 투명지지체는 하기 특성을 갖는 것인 광학필름:20 nm ≤ (nx - ny)ㆍd ≤ 70nm50 nm ≤ │(nz - ny)·d│ ≤ 140nm상기 식에 있어서, nx는 투명지지체의 평면상에서 가장 굴절률이 큰 방향으로의 굴절률이며, ny는 상기 nx 방향에 대해 수직 방향으로의 굴절률로서 평면상에서 굴절률이 가장 작은 값이며, nz는 투명지지체의 두께 방향의 굴절률이며, d는 투명지지체의 두께이다.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 투명지지체는 트리아세틸 셀룰로스, 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이트, 폴리메틸 메타크릴레이트, 폴리카보네이트, 폴리에틸렌, 사이클로 올레핀 폴리머, 폴리비닐 알코올, 디아세틸 셀룰로오스 및 폴리에테르 술폰으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상의 물질로 이루어진 것인 광학필름.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 투명지지체는 상기 편광필름의 보호필름 역할을 겸하는 것인 광학필름.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 투명지지체는 상기 광학이방성층의 형성시 코팅 기재로서의 역할을 하는 것인 광학필름.
- 액정패널의 적어도 일면에 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 하나의 항의 광학필름을 구비한 트위스티드 네마틱 액정 표시 장치.
- a) 투명지지체의 일면 상에 디스코틱 액정 화합물을 포함하는 용액을 코팅하고, 건조 및 광경화 또는 열경화에 의하여 디스코틱 액정 필름을 형성하는 단계, 및b) 상기 일면에 디스코틱 액정 필름이 형성된 투명지지체의 타면에 편광필름을 부착하는 단계를 포함하는 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 하나의 항의 광학필름의 제조 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 하나의 항의 광학필름을 디스코틱 액정 필름이 TN-LCD 액정셀에 접하도록 부착시키는 단계를 포함하는 액정표시장치의 제조 방법.
