본 발명은 비디오 콘텐츠를 다운로드 하면서 그 다운로드 파일이 소정량 이상 되었을 때, 그 비디오 콘텐츠를 바로 보기 서비스할 수 있도록 함으로써, 비디오 콘텐츠를 다운로드 받을 경우 발생하는 시간을 좀 더 효율적으로 활용할 수 있도록 하여 사용자의 편의성을 향상시킬 수 있도록 하는 이동 통신 단말기의 주문형 비디오 콘텐츠 다운로드 서비스 방법에 관한 것으로, 이동 통신 단말기를 이용해 무선 인터넷에 접속하여 주문형 비디오(VOD) 콘텐츠를 이용함에 있어서, 상기 VOD 콘텐츠를 이용하기 위한 사용자 메뉴를 출력하는 단계와; 상기 사용자 메뉴에서 '다운로드하면서 바로보기' 항목이 선택될 경우, 해당 콘텐츠의 다운로드를 바로 시작하는 단계와; 상기 다운로드 받는 콘텐츠의 용량을 체크하여 지정된 소정 용량 이상 다운로드 받았는지 확인하는 단계와; 상기 콘텐츠를 지정된 용량 이상 다운로드 받았을 경우 콘텐츠 재생을 시작하고, 아울러 해당 콘텐츠 파일의 다운로드가 완료될 때까지 다운로드를 계속 수행하는 단계를 포함하여 이루어짐으로써 달성할 수 있다.The present invention allows the user to directly view the video content when the download file is over a predetermined amount while downloading the video content, so that the time generated when the video content is downloaded can be utilized more efficiently.
