Claims (12)
- 상부기판과 하부기판 각각에 형성되고 서로 다른 자발분극방향을 가지는 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층과;상기 제1 강유전성 액정층과 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층 사이에 협지된 네마틱계 액정층과;상기 상부기판과 상기 하부기판 각각에 형성되어 상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층에 전기장을 인가하기 위한 제1 및 제2 전극을 구비하며;상기 제1 강유전성 액정층과 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층은 서로 다른 극성의 전기장에 각각 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 구동을 유도하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 강유전성 액정층은 하프 브이 스위칭 모드로 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 상부기판 상에 형성된 제1 배향막과;상기 하부기판 상에 형성된 제2 배향막을 추가로 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 제1 및 제2 배향막 중 적어도 어느 하나는 극성 매질 및 비극성 매질 중 어느 하나인 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 제1 강유전성 액정층의 자발분극은 상기 제1 배향막쪽으로 향하며, 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층의 자발분극은 상기 제2 배향막쪽으로 향하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 제1 강유전성 액정층이 정극성의 전기장에 반응하거나 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층이 부극성의 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동이 유도되는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 제1 강유전성 액정층의 자발분극은 상기 제2 배향막쪽으로 향하며, 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층의 자발분극은 상기 제1 배향막쪽으로 향하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 제1 강유전성 액정층이 부극성의 전기장에 반응하거나 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층이 정극성의 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동이 유도되는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치.
- 상부기판과 하부기판 각각에 형성되고 서로 다른 자발분극방향을 가지는 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층, 상기 제1 강유전성 액정층과 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층 사이에 협지된 네마틱계 액정층, 상기 상부기판과 상기 하부기판 각각에 형성되어 상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층에 전기장을 인가하기 위한 제1 및 제2 전극을 가지는 액정장치의 구동방법에 있어서,상기 제1 및 제2 전극을 이용하여 상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층에 전기장을 인가하는 단계와;상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층 중 어느 하나가 상기 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동을 유도하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 제1 및 제2 전극을 이용하여 상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층에 전기장을 인가하는 단계는상기 제1 및 제2 전극을 이용하여 상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층에 정극성 및 부극성 중 어느 한 극성의 전기장을 인가하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 10 항에 있어서,상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층 중 어느 하나가 상기 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동을 유도하는 단계는상기 제1 강유전성 액정층이 정극성의 전기장에 반응하거나 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층이 부극성의 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동이 유도되는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 10 항에 있어서,상기 제1 및 제2 강유전성 액정층 중 어느 하나가 상기 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동을 유도하는 단계는상기 제1 강유전성 액정층이 부극성의 전기장에 반응하거나 상기 제2 강유전성 액정층이 정극성의 전기장에 반응하여 상기 네마틱계 액정층의 액정분자의 면내 스위칭 거동이 유도되는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
