Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for managing supplementary service information of a cellular phone is provided to record status information on a supplementary service in an SSIS(Supplementary Service Indication Status) EF(Elementary File) of an SIM(Subscriber Identity Module) at the request of a user, thereby informing the user whether the supplementary service is in active status after replacing a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system registers various supplementary services, asks a user whether to store a supplementary service status in an SIM, and performs a corresponding function if the user does not want to store the supplementary service status(S1-S3). If the user wants to store the status, the system stores the supplementary status in an SSIS EF of the SIM, so that the user can know whether the supplementary service is in active status or deactive status(S4). If the user turns on power again, the system confirms a PIN to read status information from the EF, and displays the supplementary service status(S5-S8). The system displays an active supplementary service code in note pad type(S9).
