Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for automatically storing a telephone number of a mobile communication system is provided to implement a DTMF detect module in a cellular phone, and to detect a number when other party presses a number key in a busy state, thereby automatically storing the number in a memory. CONSTITUTION: The first caller dials a predetermined telephone number by using a mobile phone, and presses a send key(S1). A speech path is formed with the other party through a base station by using the dialed telephone number. A telephone decides whether a set burst DTMF message including the predetermined telephone number is received through a forward traffic channel from the other party while calling the other party(S4). If so, the telephone decides whether a detected DTMF tone corresponds to a number button(S5). If so, the telephone stores the detected DTMF tone in a DRAM(S7). If the DTMF tone is not the number button, the telephone decides whether the tone corresponds to a specific character(S6). If so, the telephone stores the telephone number in a flash memory(S8).
