최근들어 도심의 교통체증을 해소하고 버스 및 지하철과 같은 대중교통수단의 비효율성과 수송분담을 줄이기 위하여 미국, 캐나다, 유럽등지에서는 경전철시스템이 이미 사용되고 있으며, 우리나라 또한 도입이 추진되고 있는 실정이다.In recent years, light rail systems have already been used in the US, Canada, and Europe to reduce traffic congestion and reduce the inefficiency and transportation burden of public transportation such as buses and subways.

전력공급용 레일본체(1)는 경전철(6)의 진행방향과 나란한 형태로써 지상부분이나 별도의 간단한 고정부(8)에 의하여 설치된다. 경전철(6)에는 별도의 집전장치(7)가 부착되어 주행용 레일(9) 및 전력공급용 레일본체(1)로 부터 전력을 공급받을 수 있도록 구성하였다.The power supply regulating body 1 is installed by the ground portion or a separate simple fixing part 8 in a form parallel to the traveling direction of the light rail 6.
