Abstract

PURPOSE: A color LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) displaying method of a portable terminal is provided to convert a color LCD driven system to a mono system, if a battery voltage is lowered to a predetermined value, so as to reduce power consumption and extend a standby time of the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: If a portable terminal is turned on, a CPU performs an initialization process and leads the portable terminal to a standby state. In the standby state, the CPU checks an A/D(Analog-to-Digital) terminal, to detect a power voltage of a battery and decide whether the detected voltage is lowered to a preset predetermined value. If the voltage of the battery is over the preset value, the CPU maintains a color LCD driven system as a current color system. If the voltage is under the preset value, the CPU sets the color LCD driven system as a mono system. And the steps are repeated whenever the portable terminal becomes a standby state.
