Abstract

본 발명은 I-Picture location정보 관리 방법, 및 기록장치에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에 따라, 비디오 데이터가 기록된 복수개의 VOBU; 및 하나의 VOBU 내에 존재하는 복수개의 I-picture에 대하여 위치가 표시된 네비게이션 데이터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 이에 의해, 가변적으로 부드러운 적응적 고속 재생이 가능하다.

Description

Ｉ－Ｐｉｃｔｕｒｅ Ｉｏｃａｔｉｏｎ정보 관리방법, 및 기록장치{Managing method for I-Picture location information and recording apparatus thereof}
본 발명은 I-Picture location정보 관리방법, 및 기록장치에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 적응적 재생 제어를 위한 복수개의 I-Picture location정보 관리방법, 및 기록장치에 관한 것이다.
현재 주요 디지털 방송은 모두 MPEG-2 video를 기본으로 하고 있다. 하지만 video stream의 세부 parameter는 각종 권고안에서 권고하고 있으나 구체적인 값은 각 방송국이나 프로그램 제작자에 따라 달라질 수 있다.
MPEG2를 기반으로 하는 디지털 영상기기의 경우 편집과 램덤 접근을 위하여 MPEG2 bitstream을 일정한 단위로 나누어 관리한다. MPEG2-video 부호화 기술을 기반으로 하는 DVD-Video recorder에서는 비디오를 0.5 ~ 1초 단위로 분할하여 일정한 단위로 기록한다. 이 단위를 VOBU (Video Object Unit)라고 하며, DVD-Video recorder는 VOBU를 하나 혹은 그 이상의 GOP (Group of picture)로 구성한다. 이를통하여 GOP 이하 단위의 삭제를 방지하며, 고속 재생(FF) 혹은 역방향 재생(FR, reverse)을 하는 경우 디코더에 재생 가능한 데이터를 공급할 수 있다(실제 비디오 레코더의 경우에는 압축률을 높이기 위해서 하나의 VOBU에 하나의 GOP가 들아가도록 함). 이와 같은 기술을 MPEG2를 기반으로 하는 방송용 데이터를 저장하는 데도 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
하지만 기존의 기술은 0.5 ~ 1초 단위로 하나씩의 I-Picture 만을 표시하므로 VOBU에 I-picture가 복수개 있더라도 이를 활용할 수 없게 되어 있다. 즉 고속 재생을 하는 경우 15~ 30 배속 혹은 그 배수의 속도로만 초고속 재생만이 가능하다.
따라서, 본 발명의 목적은 적응적 재생 제어를 위한 복수개의 I-Picture location정보 관리방법, 및 기록장치를 제공하는 것이다.
도 1 내지 16은 본 발명을 상세히 설명되어 있는 참고도이다.
본 발명에 따른 적응적 재생 제어를 위한 복수개의 I-Picture location정보 관리방법, 및 기록장치는 다음과 같은 기술적 사상을 기초로 한다.
즉, 하나의 VOBU내에 존재하는 복수개의 I-picture에 대하여 위치를 표시한다면 7 ~ 30배속 혹은 그 배수에 걸쳐 가변적으로 부드러운 고속 재생이 가능하다(방송의 경우 방송국에서 0.5 ~ 1초 사이에 복수개의 GOP를 전송한다면 이를 적극적으로 활용할 필요가 있다).
보다 구체적인 데이터 구조 및 장치의 구성은 도 1 내지 16에 기록된 데이터구조 및 기록장치에 따른다.
전술한 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따르면 가변적으로 부드러운 적응적 고속 재생이 가능하다.

  1. 비디오 데이터가 기록된 복수개의 VOBU; 및
    하나의 VOBU 내에 존재하는 복수개의 I-picture에 대하여 위치가 표시된 네비게이션 데이터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저장매체.
