종래에는 타구된 공을 작업자가 직접 일일이 회수하여 골퍼에게 수작업으로 공급하거나 작업자가 회수한 공을 캐디머신의 보관통에 투입하여 공급하는 반자동공급장치와 코인에 의한 공바구니 자동공급장치 등이 있으나 수작업으로 인력의 낭비나 안전성 및 청결면에서 문제가 있었고 캐디머신을 사용하는 경우에는 작업자가 직접 수작업으로 공을 수거하여 캐디머신에 집어 넣어야 하고, 코인에 의한 공바구니 공급방법은 작업이 번거로운 문제점이 있었다. 또한 상기한 문제점을 개선하여 타구된 골프공을 집구하여 세척기와 건조기를 통해 세척 건조한후 수평 또는 수직 이송컨베이어로 회수 집구하여 각 타석에 위치한 티업기로 공을 공급하는 장치도 개발되어 있으나 이들 장치는 회수된 공을 건조기로 건조하는 과정에서 완전건조가 이루어지지 못하고(건조효율 60%이하), 완전건조 되지 못한 젖은공을 송풍기로 불어서 안내관을 통해 송풍식 이송장치로 이송하므로서 젖은볼이 먼지 등으로 막힌 관을 통과하여 이송효율이 원활하지 못하였고 집구된 공을 타석위에 위치한 집구장치에서 각층에 위치한 각타석의 티업기에 공을 이송하는 수평이송컨베이어에 분배하는 과정에서 공의 낙하압력(직하중)을 제어하는 장치가 없어서 소음이 많이 발생되고 공이 파손되며 낙하공을 받은 부위에 손상을 가져오며 타석 하부에 매설된 수평이송장치에서 티업기로 공을 이송하는 과정이 원활하지 못해서 기계작동이 원활하지 못하므로 잦은 고장으로 문제점이 많았다. 또한 상기 장치들을 타석하부에 매립설치할때 건축물안전설계상 기계장치를 건물 각층 타석부 중앙부에 매립 설치하므로서 위치가 적절하지 못하여 건물구조의 안전성면에서 문제가 발생하며 공사비가 증가하는 등 문제가 많았으며, 매립설치하는 기계의 프레임이 주물로 되어 있어서 프레임이 녹이 슬고 건물바닥을 뜯기 전에는 수리가 불가능하였다.Conventionally, there is a semi-automatic feeding device for supplying the ball manually by the worker and supplying it manually to the golfer, or by supplying the collected ball to the caddy machine's storage container and automatic supplying device for the ball basket by coin.
