Abstract

본 발명은 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법에 관한 것으로 특히, 시청자의 조작없이 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램을 자동으로 검출하여 등록하도록 함을 특징으로 한다. 이러한 목적의 본 발명은 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 설정하는 제1 단계와, 기준 시간()내의 채널 변경으로 판단한 경우 채널 유지 시간()이 설정 시간()보다 큰지 비교하는 제2 단계와, 상기에서 채널 유지 시간()이 설정 시간()보다 큰 경우 그 채널 유지 시간()에 대응하는 프로그램을 시청자의 선호 프로그램으로 등록하는 제3 단계와, 기준 시간()내에 채널이 변경되지 않는 경우 채널 유지 시간()이 기준 시간()보다 큰지 비교하는 제4 단계와, 상기에서 채널 유지 시간()이 기준 시간()보다 큰 경우 그 채널 유지 시간(

시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법{AUTOMATION DETECT METHOD FOR BROADCASTING PROGRAM BE A FAVORITE WITH VIEWER}
본 발명은 개인용 비디오 레코더(PVR)에 관한 것으로 특히, 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법에 관한 것이다.
최근 케이블 티브이와 위성 티브이의 보급으로 인해 시청자는 24시간 내내 다양한 채널과 방송 프로그램을 접할 수 있게 되었다.
따라서, 사용자는 자신이 선호하는 방송 프로그램을 녹화하여 원하는 시간에 시청하고자 하는 욕구가 증대하게 되었다.
그러나, 너무 많는 채널로 인해 사용자는 어느 채널에서 언제, 어떤 종류의 프로그램이 방송되는지 알기 힘들게 되었다.
이를 해결하기 위해 방송 프로그램 안내(EPG) 서비스가 제시되었다.
방송 프로그램 안내(EPG) 서비스는 프로그램의 종류, 내용, 출연자 등의 정보를 제공함으로 사용자는 그 정보를 참조하여 희망하는 프로그램을 시청하거나 녹화하게 되었다.
개인용 비디오 레코더(PVR ; Personal Video Recorder)는 사용자가 설정한 프로그램 녹화 뿐만 아니라 개인 데이터 즉, 사용자의 성향을 파악하여 사용자가 보고 싶어할 프로그램을 사용자의 설정없이도 녹화할 수 있다.
그러나, 종래의 Tivo와 같은 방식은 사용자가 프로그램 시청중 좋아하는 프로그램은 Thumbs Up 버튼 그리고, 싫어하는 프로그램은 Thumbs Down 버튼을 누름에 따라 사용자의 시청 성향을 인식하게 된다.
따라서, 종래에는 사용자가 방송 프로그램에 대한 선호도를 인식시키는 과정을 수행하여야 함으로 사용자에게 불편함을 줄 수 있는 단점이 있다.
따라서, 본 발명은 종래의 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 개인용 비디오 레코더(PVR)에서 시청자의 조작없이 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램을 자동으로 검출하도록 창안한 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법을 제공함에 목적이 있다.
즉, 본 발명은 개인용 비디오 레코더(PVR)에서 방송 프로그램의 시청 시간을 계수하면서 설정 시간과 비교하고 시청 시간이 설정 시간보다 큰 경우 해당 방송 프로그램을 시청자의 선호 프로그램으로 등록함은 물론 방송 프로그램 안내(EPG) 정보로부터 해당 방송 프로그램의 정보를 획득하여 저장하는 것이다.
또한, 본 발명은 등록된 선호 프로그램 정보를 참조하여 시청자의 조작없이도 해당 프로그램을 녹화하도록 함을 다른 목적으로 한다.
도1은 본 발명의 실시예에서 선호 프로그램 구분 시간 설정을 위한 동작 순서도.
도2는 도1의 과정에서의 채널 유지 시간의 누적 그래프를 보인 예시도.
도3은 본 발명의 실시예에서 방송 프로그램 자동 검출을 위한 동작 순서도.
본 발명은 상기의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 채널 변경시마다 방송 프로그램에 대한 시청 시간(채널 유지 시간)을 계수하는 단계와, 상기에서 계수된 시청 시간을 설정 시간과 비교하는 단계와, 상기에서 시청 시간이 설정 시간보다 크면 해당 방송 프로그램을 시청자의 선호 프로그램으로 등록하고 방송 프로그램 안내 정보로부터 해당 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보를 획득하여 저장하는 단계와, 상기에서 등록된 선호 프로그램이 방송 시간에 시청되지 않는 경우 해당 방송 프로그램을 녹화하는 단계를 수행함을 특징으로 한다.
이하, 본 발명을 도면에 의거 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
본 발명의 실시예는 도1의 동작 순서도와 동일한 과정을 실행하여 시청자의 선호 프로그램을 구분하기 위한 시간()을 검출하고 이 검출된 시간()을 기준으로 도3의 동작 순서도와 동일한 과정을 실행하여 시청자의 선호 프로그램을 검출하게 된다.
즉, 본 발명의 실시예는 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 설정하는 단계와, 기준 시간()내에 채널이 변경되는지 판단하는 단계와, 상기에서 채널 변경으로 판단한 경우 채널 유지 시간()이 설정 시간()보다 큰지 비교하는 단계와, 상기 채널 유지 시간()이 설정 시간()보다 큰 경우 그 채널 유지 시간()에 대응하는 프로그램을 시청자의 선호 프로그램으로 등록하는 단계와, 상기에서 채널이 변경되지 않으면 채널 유지 시간()이 기준 시간()보다 큰지 비교하는 단계와, 상기에서 채널 유지 시간()이 기준 시간()보다 큰 경우 그 채널 유지 시간()에 대응하는 프로그램을 선호 프로그램으로 등록하는 단계를 수행하도록 구성한다.
상기에서 선호 프로그램 구분 시간()을 설정하는 단계는 채널이 변경되는지 판단하는 과정과, 채널 고정 간주시간()내에 채널이 변경될 때마다 채널 유지 시간()을 저장하고 채널 유지 시간()을 초기화하는 과정과, 상기에서저장된 채널 유지 시간의 그래프를 작성하여 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 설정하는 과정으로 이루어짐을 특징으로 한다.
이와같이 구성한 본 발명의 실시예에 대한 동작 및 작용 효과를 설명하면 다음과 같다.
우선, 시청자의 채널 변경 성향을 파악하는 초기화 과정이 필요하다.
채널 탐색 모드를 설정하면 방송 프로그램 안내 화면을 표시하면서 시청자가 탐색하는 방송 프로그램의 채널 유지 시간()을 계수하게 된다.
이는 시청자가 채널 탐색시 그냥 지나치는 프로그램과 주의를 가지고 살펴보는 프로그램과의 차이를 파악하기 위한 과정이다.
이를 도1의 동작 순서도를 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.
채널 변경이 이루어지는 순간 채널 유지 시간()을 초기화하고(= 0) 현재 시간()을 채널 변경 시작 시간()으로 설정한다.()
이 후, 미리 정해진 시간()내에 다시 채널 변경이 이루어지면 그 동안의 채널 유지 시간()을 저장하고 채널 변경시의 초기화 과정(채널 유지 시간 초기화, 현재 시간을 채널 변경 시작 시간으로 설정)을 수행한다.
만일, 미리 정해진 시간()내에 채널이 변경되지 않으면 채널이 고정된 것으로 판단하여 상기 과정을 종료한다.
상기 채널 고정 간주시간()은 사용자가 임의로 설정하도록 구성할 수 있다.
그런데, 상기의 과정을 반복 수행하게 되면 도2의 예시도와 같은 사용자의 채널 변경 성향을 나타내는 선호 프로그램 그래프를 얻을 수 있다.
따라서, 도2의 그래프를 이용하여 사용자의 채널 변경 성향 즉, 선호 프로그램 여부를 구분하기 위한 시간()을 설정하게 된다.
이 후, 도2의 그래프를 참조하여 구한 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 이용하여 사용자의 선호 프로그램을 검출하는데, 이를 도3의 동작 순서도를 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.
채널 변경이 이루어지는 순간 채널 유지 시간()을 초기화하고(= 0) 현재 시간()을 채널 변경 시작 시간()으로 설정()한다.
이 후, 미리 정해진 시간()내에 다시 채널이 변경되면 채널 유지시간()과 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 비교하게 된다.
따라서, 채널 유지 시간()이 선호 프로그램 구분시간()보다 큰 경우 해당 프로그램을 선호 프로그램으로 등록하고 그 방송 프로그램의 정보를 방송 프로그램 안내(EPG) 정보로부터 획득하여 저장하게 된다.
반대로, 미리 정해진 시간()내에 채널 변경이 이루어지지 않은 경우 즉, 채널 유지시간()이 채널 고정 간주시간()보다 큰 경우 해당 프로그램을 선호 프로그램으로 등록하고 그 방송 프로그램 정보를 방송 프로그램 안내(EPG) 정보로부터 획득하여 저장하게 된다.
이 후, 도3의 과정으로 반복 수행함에 따라 시청자의 프로그램 선호 성향을 파악하게 되며 이로부터 시청자의 선호 프로그램을 자동으로 녹화하게 된다.
즉, 시청자의 선호 프로그램이 등록되면 그 등록된 선호 프로그램의 방송 시간이 되는지 판단하고 해당 방송 시간에 프로그램이 시청 중인지를 판단하게 된다.
이 후, 등록된 방송 프로그램의 방송 시간으로 판단한 경우 해당 방송 프로그램이 시청되지 않는 경우 자동으로 녹화 동작을 수행하게 된다.
이에 따라, 시청자는 해당 방송 프로그램을 시청하지 못한 경우에는 녹화된 방송 프로그램을 시청할 수 있게 된다.
또한, 사용자가 방송 프로그램 안내 정보를 보는 경우 상기에서 등록된 선호 프로그램을 우선적으로 표시하도록 구성할 수 있다.
이에 따라, 사용자는 불필요한 과정없이 선호하는 방송 프로그램을 쉽게 탐색할 수 있다.
상기에서 상세히 설명한 바와 같이 본 발명은 시청자의 선호 프로그램을 자동 검출하여 등록하고 그 등록된 선호 프로그램의 방송 시간에 해당 방송 프로그램이 시청되지 않는 경우 시청자의 별도 조작없이도 해당 방송 프로그램을 자동으로 녹화함으로써 시청자가 선호 프로그램을 시청할 수 있도록 하여 시청자의 만족감을 충족시킬 수 있는 효과가 있다.

Claims (7)

  1. 채널 변경시마다 임의의 방송 프로그램에 대한 시청 시간을 계수하는 제1 단계와, 상기에서 계수된 시청 시간을 설정 시간과 비교하는 제2 단계와, 상기에서 시청 시간이 설정 시간보다 크면 해당 방송 프로그램을 시청자의 선호 프로그램으로 등록하는 제3 단계를 수행함을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 시청자의 선호 프로그램 등록시 해당 방송 프로그램 정보를 방송 프로그램 안내(EPG) 정보로부터 획득하여 저장하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 시청자의 선호 프로그램의 방송 시간이 되었는지 판단하는 제4 단계와, 상기에서 방송 시간이 된 경우 해당 방송 프로그램이 시청중인지를 판단하는 제5 단계와, 상기에서 방송 프로그램이 시청중이 아닌 경우 해당 방송 프로그램을 녹화하는 제6 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 채널 탐색시 등록된 시청자의 선호 프로그램을 우선적으로 표시하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램자동 검출 방법.
  5. 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 설정하는 제1 단계와, 기준 시간()내의 채널 변경으로 판단한 경우 채널 유지 시간()이 설정 시간()보다 큰지 비교하는 제2 단계와, 상기에서 채널 유지 시간()이 설정 시간()보다 큰 경우 그 채널 유지 시간()에 대응하는 프로그램을 시청자의 선호 프로그램으로 등록하는 제3 단계와, 기준 시간()내에 채널이 변경되지 않는 경우 채널 유지 시간()이 기준 시간()보다 큰지 비교하는 제4 단계와, 상기에서 채널 유지 시간()이 기준 시간()보다 큰 경우 그 채널 유지 시간()에 대응하는 프로그램을 선호 프로그램으로 등록하는 제5 단계를 수행하도록 구성함을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 선호 프로그램 구분 시간()을 설정하는 제1 단계는 채널이 변경되는지 판단하는 제1 과정과, 채널 고정 간주시간()내에 채널이 변경될 때마다 채널 유지 시간()을 저장하는 제2 과정과, 상기에서 저장된 채널 유지 시간을 참조하여 선호 프로그램 구분시간()을 설정하는 과정으로 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법.
  7. 제5항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 채널 고정 간주시간()은 시청자가 임의로 설정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시청자가 선호하는 방송 프로그램 자동 검출 방법.
