CONSTITUTION: A variable steering system for a vehicle is composed of a lower steering shaft(300) transmitting motion of a steering wheel; a middle gear part(400) including first, second and third gears(410,420,430) having the different rpm by engaging with the lower steering shaft selectively; a pinion gear part(500) connected to the lower part of the middle gear part to transmit rotational steering force to a rack gear part(600); a vehicle speed sensor(110) detecting travel speed of the vehicle and outputting the signal; a control unit(100) outputting the control signal corresponding to the signal from the vehicle speed sensor; and a motor(200) engaging the lower steering shaft with the first, second or third gear according to the control signal from the control unit. Responsiveness and convenience are improved with adjusting the steering gear ratio automatically according to the traveling state of the vehicle.
