Abstract

PURPOSE: A sound proof structure for outdoor unit of air conditioner is provided to increase air volume and reduce noise by improving the structure of cutoff wall installed to the compressor in the outdoor unit. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner outdoor unit comprises a case(1); a compressor(2) installed in the case; a heat exchanger(5) and a blower fan(3) installed side by side to the compressor in the case; and a cutoff wall(60) arranged to the compressor, and which separates the space where the heat exchanger and blower fan are installed and the space where the compressor is installed. The cutoff wall is arranged to partially shield the compressor within the case. The cutoff wall is formed from the rear of the case to the immediate rear of the blade of the blower fan, and has a sound proof member(61) and a sound absorbing member(62) attached to the surface of the cutoff wall facing toward the compressor.
