Description

Binding agent system based on water glass}Binding agent system based on water glass

The present invention relates to a binder that yields a core molding for foundry.

The binder forming part of the molding material provides a bond between the individual sand particles under certain conditions, such as forming a moistening, swelling silicate. Apart from purely expandable binders and ceramic binders, when chemical binders based on water glass or synthetic resins are used, the binders react with one another during the process to cure.

Prior art binders produce product wastes that are not sufficiently stable or have undesirable side effects and / or environmental hazards. It can thus be seen that it is advantageous to include what consists of a molding material which is made to cure in the solid state during the treatment process through the dehydration action. However, it is not always easy to control the curing action in such a way that the curing action takes place first in the core box. In particular, the core forming apparatus of recent years has the disadvantage that the molding sand is initially cured. As a result, the good flowability of the sand required while flowing into the core box is not always achieved.

It is an object of the present invention to improve the binder additive for molding sand so that the additive has the desired properties, in particular suitable for use in the core molding apparatus.

According to the invention, the object is achieved by the features listed in the claims.

The new binding agent system based on water glass is composed of an aqueous alkali silicate solution of the general composition of the xSiO 2 x yM 2 O x zH 2 O M is an alkali ions Li +, shows a K + or Na + contains a hygroscopic base by adding ever . In a preferred embodiment, the hygroscopic base is provided in the form of sodium alkaline solution in a ratio of 1: 4 to 1: 6. When the ratio of Na 2 O / SiO 2 is 2.5 to 3.5 and the solid matter content is 20 to 40%, it is possible to prevent the molding sand from prematurely curing under any working conditions. According to a preferred embodiment, it was proposed to provide an aqueous solution with a hygroscopic base in the form of 30% sodium alkaline solution. In order to control hygroscopicity, it is preferable to use surface-active substances. If the surface-active substance is a binder system in the form of a silicone oil of 250 ° or more, the flow of molding sand will be significantly improved. In a preferred embodiment, an emulsion of 8-10% silicone oil, based on the amount of binder, is added to the binder system.

1 shows a core molding apparatus.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to a comparative example using the core molding apparatus according to FIG. 1 described below.

The core molding device consists of a vertically arranged housing A in which a horizontal air inlet B is flanged. The air inlet is controlled by an air intake valve 1 with a large surface, which is increased in the air storage tank 5. Air pressure is present. When the air intake valve 1 is opened, the air pressure reaches the device chamber 10 of the housing A, where the chamber 10 has a vertically arranged sand cylinder 6. The sand cylinder 6 is connected to a sand storage container 3 which can be emptied via the slide 4.

When the air intake valve is actuated, sand is transferred from the sand cylinder (6) with fine grooves to the molding head (7) with sand outlet holes and into the core box (8) so that the core sand vent (9) is the core sand (11). Achieve consolidation.

In order to measure the water content of the molding mower, a moisture measuring device is configured in the air discharge valve 2.

It can be seen that by using this apparatus, the molding sand according to the invention has a high water content and thus improves adhesiveness, thereby improving the flowability of the molding sand.
