Abstract

PURPOSE: An improved structure of oil pan attachment to a cylinder block is provided to prevent an engine oil leakage from the oil pan by improving sealing of the gasket. CONSTITUTION: An oil pan(2) for storing an engine oil is mounted to a bottom surface(1a) of a cylinder block(1), with a flange iron sheet(3) interposed between the oil pan and the cylinder block and which has an end bent downward, and a gasket(4) arranged to be tightly adhered to the flange iron sheet. The flange iron sheet is coupled to the cylinder block via a plurality of bolts(5), and has a lower surface connected to an aluminum ring plate with a thickness of 10 to 15mm via a bolt(5). Since the flange iron sheet and the gasket are coupled to the cylinder block with the aluminum ring plate, the coupling force from the bolts is uniformly distributed by the aluminum ring plate, thus enhancing adherence of the gasket.
