Abstract

PURPOSE: A metal pyrithione dispersion solution containing cellulose resin is provided which is very stable at low viscosity of 10-500cps. Therefore, excellent dispersion solution is prepared for shampoo such like. CONSTITUTION: A metal pyrithione has the structure of the formula I, in which M may be Zn2+, Cu2+, Mg2+, or Sr2+, and it has also an anti-microbial effect so that it is generally added to the dandruff-preventing shampoo. The metal pyrithione dispersion solution having 10 to 500cps of viscosity contains 1 to 50 wt.% of cellulose resin such as methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, or hydroxyethyl methylcellulose; 1 to 20 wt.% of elasticizer such as propylene glycol 300 monolaurate; and surfactant such as polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan trioreate, sorbitan monolaurate, sorbitan monooleate, sorbitan monopalmitate, sorbitan monostearate, sorbitan trioreate or sorbitan sesqui-oreate.
