Abstract

본 발명은 현재 시각 방송되고 있는 TV 프로그램의 타이틀을 TV 화면에 표시하는 프로그램 가이드의 제어방법을 개시한다.
본 발명에 따른 각 TV방송국에서 전송하는 프로그램 스케쥴데이터를 유입하여 현재 방송중인 각 채널의 TV 프로그램들을 화면에 표시하는 프로그램 가이드의 제어방법은, 프로그램 가이드 모드를 선택하여 시간별 각 채널의 방송되는 프로그램의 타이틀을 화면에 디스플레이하는 제1과정; 각 방송채널의 프로그램들 중에서 현재 시각 이전부터 방송된 프로그램이 있는지를 확인하는 제2과정; 상기 제2과정에서 확인된 현재 시각 이전부터 방송된 프로그램 중에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료시간을 갖는 프로그램을 선택하는 제3과정; 및 상기 제3과정에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료시간을 갖는 상기 선택된 프로그램의 타이틀이 식별될 수 있도록 화면상에 표시하는 제4과정을 포함함을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명에 의하면, 다른 시간에 방송되는 채널의 프로그램과 비교되어 현재 방송되고 있는 각 채널의 프로그램들의 타이틀이 손쉽게 식별될 수 있도록 상이한 칼라로 처리하여 디스플레이함으로써, 시청자는 간편하게 현재 방송되는 프로그램 중에서 원하는 프로그램을 선택하여 시청할 수 있다.

Description

방송되는 프로그램 타이틀을 표시하는 프로그램 가이드 제어방법
본 발명은 TV방송의 프로그램 가이드 제어방법에 관한 것으로서, 특히 현재 시각 방송되고 있는 TV 프로그램의 타이틀을 TV 화면에 표시하는 프로그램 가이드의 제어방법에 관한 것이다.
종전에는 각 TV채널에서 방영되는 프로그램과 그 프로그램들이 언제 방영되는지를 알아보기 위해서는 시청자가 해당 채널에서 간혹 방송되는 프로그램안내를 보거나, 신문 등에 각 방송채널에 대한 시간대별 프로그램을 안내하는 난을 참조해야만 하였다. 따라서, 신문을 구입하지 못하였거나 프로그램 안내방송을 보지 못하였을 경우에는 시청자가 원하는 프로그램을 방영시간을 알기가 힘들었다.
이의 문제점을 개선하여, 근래에는 각 방송국에서 전송하는 TV신호에 방영되는 프로그램들의 스케쥴데이터를 삽입시켜 전송하면, TV에서는 각 TV신호를 수신하여 프로그램 스케쥴데이터를 TV화면에 디스플레이함으로써, 시청자가 각 채널마다 방영되는 프로그램을 보다 쉽게 확인할 수 있게 되었다.
그러나 이러한 스케쥴데이터를 화면에 단지 디스플레이하여, 각 채널별, 시간대별로 프로그램들의 타이틀의 리스트를 디스플레이하기 때문에, 각 채널마다 시청자가 현재 시각에 어떠한 프로그램이 방영되고 있는지 각각의 프로그램들의 방영시간을 확인하여야 하는 불편함이 따랐다.
본 발명은 상술한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 창출된 것으로서, 각 채널의 프로그램 타이틀 중에서 현재시각에 방송되고 있는 프로그램들의 타이틀을 시청자가 간편하게 확인하여 원하는 프로그램이 방영되는 채널을 선택할 수 있는 프로그램 가이드 제어방법을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다.
도 1은 본 발명의 프로그램 가이드 제어방법을 설명하기 위한 흐름도이다.
도 2는 도 1에 도시된 흐름도에 따라 실행된 TV화면의 일실시예를 도시한다.
상기의 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명에 의한, 각 TV방송국에서 전송하는 프로그램 스케쥴데이터를 유입하여 현재 방송중인 각 채널의 TV 프로그램들을 화면에 표시하는 프로그램 가이드의 제어방법에 있어서,
프로그램 가이드 모드를 선택하여 시간별 각 채널의 방송되는 프로그램의 타이틀을 화면에 디스플레이하는 제1과정;
각 방송채널의 프로그램들 중에서 현재 시각 이전부터 방송된 프로그램이 있는지를 확인하는 제2과정;
상기 제2과정에서 확인된 현재 시각 이전부터 방송된 프로그램 중에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료시간을 갖는 프로그램을 선택하는 제3과정; 및
상기 제3과정에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료시간을 갖는 상기 선택된 프로그램의 타이틀이 식별될 수 있도록 화면상에 표시하는 제4과정을 포함함을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 제4과정에서 현재 방송되는 프로그램의 타이틀 표시는 상기 프로그램의 타이틀을 하이라이트(highlight)시킴을 특징으로 한다.
이하, 첨부 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 일실시예를 상세히 설명하기로 한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 프로그램 가이드 제어방법을 설명하기 위한 흐름도이며, 도 2는 도 1에 도시된 흐름도에 따라 실행된 TV화면의 일실시예를 도시한다.
리모콘 또는 입력키를 눌러 각 방송국에서 전송된 스케쥴데이터를 화면에 처리하여 각 채널과 시간대별 프로그램 타이틀을 디스플레이하는 프로그램 가이드의 모드를 선택한(10단계) 후, 각 방송국이 송신하는 채널의 프로그램들 중에서 현재 시각 이전에 방송이 시작된 프로그램이 있는가를 확인하여 이전에 방송이 시작된 프로그램이 있으면(12단계), 현재 시각보다 앞서 방송된 프로그램들 중에서 종료시간이 현재 시각 이후인가를 확인한다(14단계). 이때, 12단계 및 14단계에서 해당 프로그램이 없을 경우에는 종료한다. 한편, 14단계에서 현재 시각 이전에 방송이 시작된 프로그램들 중에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료되는 프로그램이 있는 경우에는 해당 프로그램의 타이틀을 하이라이트시킨다. 즉, 현재시각이 오후 8시 25분일 경우에는 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이 현재 방송되는 채널의 프로그램타이틀(T2 내지 T5)을 하이라이트시키거나 다른 칼라로 디스플레이하여 시청자가 현재 방송되고 있는 프로그램을 손쉽게 식별할 수 있으며, 또한 타이틀을 선택하여 엔터키를 누르면 해당 타이틀의 채널이 선택될 수 있도록 한다. 여기서, 도 2의 참조번호 23은 현재의 연도와 날짜, 시각을 나타내며, 참조번호 21과 22는 각각 채널과 방영시간대별 타이틀을 스크롤링시키기 위한 네비게이션 버튼(navigation button)과 프로그램 가이드 모드를 종료시키는 EXIT키를 나타낸다.
본 발명에 의하면, 프로그램 가이드 모드에서 다른 시간에 방송되는 채널의 프로그램과 비교되어 현재 방송되고 있는 각 채널의 프로그램들의 타이틀을 손쉽게 식별될 수 있도록 칼라처리하여 디스플레이함으로써, 시청자는 간편하게 현재 방송되는 프로그램 중에서 원하는 프로그램을 선택하여 시청할 수 있다.

Claims (2)

  1. 각 TV방송국에서 전송하는 프로그램 스케쥴데이터를 유입하여 현재 방송중인 각 채널의 TV 프로그램들을 화면에 표시하는 프로그램 가이드의 제어방법에 있어서,
    프로그램 가이드 모드를 선택하여 시간별 각 채널의 방송되는 프로그램의 타이틀을 화면에 디스플레이하는 제1과정;
    각 방송채널의 프로그램들 중에서 현재 시각 이전부터 방송된 프로그램이 있는지를 확인하는 제2과정;
    상기 제2과정에서 확인된 현재 시각 이전부터 방송된 프로그램 중에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료시간을 갖는 프로그램을 선택하는 제3과정; 및
    상기 제3과정에서 현재 시각 이후에 종료시간을 갖는 상기 선택된 프로그램의 타이틀이 식별될 수 있도록 화면상에 표시하는 제4과정을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 방송되는 프로그램 타이틀을 표시하는 프로그램 가이드 제어방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제4과정에서 현재 방송되는 프로그램의 타이틀 표시는 상기 프로그램의 타이틀을 하이라이트시킴을 특징으로 하는 방송되는 프로그램 타이틀을 표시하는 프로그램 가이드 제어방법.
