기존 수첩, 공책, 서책류의 양장제본에 의한 제품은 견고성은 있으나 제본방법의 특성에 의하여 제품이 펼친 상태로 유지되기 어려운 점이 있어 이를 개선하고자 했다. 기존 제품은 책등에 바르는 세양사와 등지를 사용하여 그 형태를 유지하였으나 이로 인해 제품의 덮혀 있는 상태로 돌아가고자 하는 원상회복력이 강하여 무엇을 쓰거나 읽고자 할 때 불편함이 많았을 뿐만 아니라 펼친 상태를 강제로 유지할 경우 제품이 손상되는 약점을 가지고 있었다. 본 발명은 앞서 언급한 불편함을 없애고 제품이 펼쳐진 상태를 그대로 유지할 수 있도록 세양사와 등지를 이용하는 제본방법을 개선한 것이다. 본 발명의 제본방법은 세양사와 등지 대신 배지한 일반 천을 사용함으로써 천이 지닌 유연성을 활용, 펼친 상태를 계속 유지할 뿐만아니라 원상태로 돌아갈 경우에도 기존 양장제본의 견고성을 그대로 유지하면서도 제품이 손상되는 약점을 개선하고 제본공정도 한 단계 줄인 것이다.Although the products of hardcover binding of existing notebooks, notebooks, and books are robust, they are difficult to maintain in the unfolded state due to the characteristics of the binding method.
