펄프를 이용하여 고양이 얼굴 또는 몸체 형태를 갖는 금형을 이용하여 도 2(가로 길이 34cm, 세로 길이 27cm, 높이 12cm) 및 도 4의 종이방석(가로 길이 중 얼굴 18cm/허리 19cm/하반신 34cm, 세로 길이 35cm, 높이 12cm)을 제조하였다(종이 두께 1~2mm). 개박하, 곡물의 새싹, 바질, 개다래나무, 로즈마리, 카모마일 및 펜넬을 다음의 표 1의 중량부와 같이 혼합하여 10배 중량의 70%(v/v) 에탄올 수용액을 첨가한 후 25℃에서 8시간 동안 반응한 후 거름종이로 걸러내어 건더기를 제거하고 감압증류하여 농축물 상태의 허브 추출물을 얻었다. 상기 농축물은 각 중량의 100배 중량의 증류수에 현탁하였다. 이 후 표 1의 중량부와 같이 코코넛 오일에 밀랍을 혼합한 후 65℃로 녹여 오일 조성물을 제조하였다. 이 후 증류수에 현탁된 허브 추출물과 오일 조성물을 스프레이하여 종이방석의 표면에 매우 미세하고 얇게 코팅되게 하였다. 이 때 허브 추출물은 0.5mm의 지름을 갖는 미세홀, 오일 조성물은 0.3mm의 지름을 갖는 미세홀을 구비한 스프레이로 분사하였다. 각 분사시간은 역시 표 1을 참고하였다. 스프레이판은 각 종이방석보다 더 큰 표면을 갖는 것을 사용하였다. Catnip, grain sprouts, basil, forsythia, rosemary, chamomile and fennel were mixed according to the parts by weight in Table 1 below, 10 times the weight of 70% (v/v) ethanol aqueous solution was added, and then incubated at 25°C for 8 hours. 병원성 세균인 스태필로코쿠스 아우레우스(Staphylococcus aureus), 대장균 0-157(Escherichia coli 0-157)를 3 %(w/v) TSB(trypticase soy broth)에서 37℃, 200rpm 조건으로 18시간 배양한 후, 다시 동일한 조건에서 4×106CFU(colony forming units)/㎖ 농도가 되도록 2시간 30분간 2차 배양하였다. 그 후 시트레이트 포스페이트 버퍼(Citrate phosphate buffer; 9mM sodium phosphate, 1mM sodium citrate, pH 7.4)와 1%(w/v) typeⅠ(low electroendosmosis) 아가로스, 0.03%(w/v) TSB로 구성된 멸균된 겔 (underlay gel) 10mL에다 배양된 세균(4×106colony forming units/㎖)을 넣고 혼합해준 뒤 사각플레이트에 붓고, 겔이 굳으면 종이방석 시편을 원형의 지름 10mm로 잘라내어 펼쳐놓았다. 이후 2일간 배양 후 클리어 존(CLEAR ZONE)의 형성 여부를 확인하였으며 클리어 존의 크기는 시편의 원형 끝부터 바깥쪽 방향으로 측정하여 다음의 표 3에 측정하여 기재하였다.Pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli 0-157 were cultured in 3% (w/v) TSB (trypticase soy broth) at 37°C and 200 rpm for 18 hours. Afterwards, secondary culture was performed under the same conditions for 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach a concentration of 4×10 6 CFU (colony forming units)/ml. After incubation for 2 days, the formation of a clear zone was confirmed, and the size of the clear zone was measured from the circular end of the specimen outward and recorded in Table 3 below.

이번에는 종이방석 시편 5cm x 5cm로 준비하여 증류수에 담근 후 건조하고, 이를 32℃ 상대습도 98%, 37℃인 곳에 24시간 두어 여름철의 고온다습한 환경이나 물기로 인한 오염 등의 조건에서 종이방석의 상태가 어떻게 변화하는지 확인하였다. 이는 육안 관찰과 냄새 확인으로 알 수 있기에 상태를 5점 평점(5점:매우 좋음, 4점:좋음, 3점:보통, 2점:약간나쁨, 1점:매우나쁨)으로 나타내게 하였다. 각 시편은 실험군별로 총 10개씩 준비하여 실시하였다. 종이방석 사용시간이 많은 고양이들을 각 군별로 3마리씩 실험하였다. 각 실험방의 수직공간의 맨 윗층에 하기 표 5와 같이 종이방석을 두고 1일 평균 머무름 시간을 두게 하였다. 이 때, 각 고양이에게 표 5의 종이방석 외에 코팅을 전혀 하지 않은 비교예 11의 일반 종이방석을 같은 공간에 두어 머무름의 선택을 하게 하였다. 확인 결과, 표 5와 같이 본 발명의 방법으로 허브 추출물과 오일 조성물이 코팅된 종이 방석이 일반 종이 방석에 비해 머무름 시간이 현저하게 증가하는 것으로 확인되어, 본 발명의 방법이 고양이용 종이 방석에 항균성이나 오염 방지 기능 외에 고양이에게 보다 편안한 휴식처로 인식되는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 종이 방석을 사용한지 1개월이 지나도 본 발명의 방법으로 제조한 종이 방석에서는 머무름 시간이 비슷하게 유지되어 허브 추출물 분사 이후 오일 조성물을 분사하여 코팅하는 방법을 통해 고양이에게 기호성을 주는 유효성분이 종이 방석 내에 오랫동안 잔류할 수 있게 하는 방법인 것으로도 파악된다. (제3단계) 분사된 허브 추출물 현탁액이 건조된 후, 고양이용 종이 방석에 코코넛오일 100 중량부 기준 밀랍 10~20 중량부가 혼합되어 65~70℃로 녹여 액화된 상태의 오일 조성물을 분사하고 건조하는 단계;
