Description
The present invention is a method of providing map information, providing map information to a user through a portable device, detecting a user's touch input corresponding to a single point, and creating a scroll element on the left or right side of the map display screen. This relates to a method of providing map information that enlarges or reduces a map by detecting and determining a user's swipe input corresponding to a single point on a scroll element or a portion of the scroll element.
Prior art portable devices typically include displays that are smaller than desktops, which can be visually frustrating to some users. Recently, technology has been developed to increase the size of the display of portable devices to provide users with more information on a single screen or provide visual satisfaction, and for this reason, the size of portable devices is also increasing. there is. However, most people currently prefer to operate portable devices such as smartphones and portable tablets with one hand for convenient portability and operation. To keep up with this demand, the interfaces of many mobile applications have recently been developed for one-hand mode as well as two-hand mode, but the technology to conveniently operate mobile maps with one hand has not yet been developed. In particular, in the conventional technology for manipulating mobile maps, the user must use a pinch gesture that resembles pinching the screen when enlarging or reducing the mobile map. When using the pinch gesture, the user usually supports the portable device with one hand. Since you have to use the map and input a pinch gesture on the screen of the portable device with the other hand, this map manipulation method is very inconvenient for modern people who mainly use the portable device with one hand.
Therefore, there is a need to develop technology that allows users of portable devices to feel the convenience of operating the map interface.

The swipe detection step (S400) involves the user's swipe input on the scroll element (E1) or the scroll detection layer (L4, see FIG. 4) corresponding to the scroll element (E1) or a certain range area including the scroll element (E1). detects. The swipe input corresponds to an input in the form of a parallel movement in the It may be upward and downward, or a combination thereof. In addition, the swipe input detected as input in the form of parallel movement or rotation movement in the X-Y plane of the map layer (L1) excluding the area of the scroll detection layer (L4) is in the upward, downward, left, and right directions. Or it may be a combination thereof.
The enlargement/reduction step (S500) enlarges or reduces the map displayed on the map layer (L1) based on the user's swipe input detected by the swipe detection step (S400). When the swipe detection step (S400) detects a swipe input corresponding to the upward direction from the lower input start point to the upper input end point in the scroll detection layer (L4), the zoom in/out step (S500) enlarges the map. Thus, a narrow range of maps is displayed in detail, and when the swipe detection step (S400) detects a swipe input corresponding to the downward direction from the upper input start point to the lower input end point, the zoom/zoom out step (S500) is performed on the map. Zoom out to briefly display a wide area of the map. In addition, when the user's swipe input corresponding to the double point of bringing the thumb and index finger together or apart while touching two fingers in the map layer (L1) excluding the area of the scroll detection layer (L4) is detected, the thumb and index finger are detected. If you spread the distance between your index fingers wider, the map will enlarge, and if you move them closer together, the map will shrink.
Figure 3 schematically shows the process of performing the scroll element display step (S300) according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 3, the scroll element display step (S300) is performed when the user's touch input is detected in an area corresponding to a preset first range from the leftmost side of the map display screen. A left scroll element (E1-1) is created on the left side, and when the user's touch input is detected in an area corresponding to a preset second range from the rightmost side of the map display screen, right scrolling is performed on the right side of the map display screen. Create an element (E1-2).
Schematically, Figure 3 (a) shows the process of displaying the left scroll element (E1-1) in the left area of the map layer (L1) displayed on the
Specifically, Figure 3 (a) shows the user's touch input on the left layer (L2) corresponding to an area of 50% from the leftmost side of the map layer (L1) displayed on the screen of the
In Figure 3 (b), the user's touch input is detected on the right layer (L3) corresponding to an area from the extreme right to 50% of the map layer (L1) displayed on the screen of the
Meanwhile, in one embodiment of the present invention shown in Figures 3 (a) to (b), the preset first range and the preset second range each correspond to 50% of the map layer (L1), It is preferable that each of the preset first range and the preset second range correspond to less than 50% of the map layer (L1). More specifically, in one embodiment shown in Figures 3 (a) to (b), when the user touches the area corresponding to 49% from the leftmost side of the map layer (L1), the width of the user's finger Due to this, the user's touch input can be detected in an area corresponding to 51% from the leftmost side (i.e., 49% from the rightmost side) of the map layer L1. Therefore, considering the width of the finger or the thickness of the nib of the stylus pen, the left layer (L2) includes an area of 45% or less from the leftmost side of the map layer (L1), and the right layer (L3) includes the map layer (L1). ) It is desirable to include an area of 45% or less from the rightmost side. Additionally, if the left layer (L2) and right layer (L3) are too narrow, the user may experience inconvenience in creating the scroll element (E1). Therefore, considering the user's convenience, it is more preferable that the preset first range and the preset second range are set to 40% to 45% of the map layer (L1). Meanwhile, in another embodiment of the present invention, the preset first range and the preset second range may be set to different ranges from 0% to 50%.
Meanwhile, even if a user's touch input is detected in a partial area of the map layer (L1) existing between the left layer (L2) and the right layer (L3) according to the preset first range and the preset second range, the scroll The element display step (S300) does not create a scroll element (E1).
Figure 3 (c) is an embodiment of the present invention, and shows a user's touch input corresponding to a single point on the right layer (L3) when the left scroll element (E1-1) is displayed on the left side of the map layer (L1). When this is detected, the left scroll element (E1-1) immediately disappears and the right scroll element (E1-2) is displayed on the right side of the map layer (L1). Similarly, when the right scroll element (E1-2) is displayed and a user's touch input corresponding to a single point is detected on the left layer (L2), the right scroll element (E1-2) immediately disappears and the map layer ( A left scroll element (E1-1) is displayed to the left of L1). Through this, when the user uses the
Figure 4 schematically shows the shape of the scroll element E1 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in Figure 4, the form of the scroll element (E1) includes a first graphic element (E2) that displays each map enlargement stage in a straight line; and a second graphic element (E3) that moves according to the user's touch input corresponding to the single point.
Specifically, Figure 4(a) shows the structure of the scroll element E1. The scroll element (E1) includes a first graphic element (E2) that is lined up in a straight line to display each map enlargement stage, and a second graphic element (E3) that moves according to the user's swipe input. In addition, the scroll detection layer (L4) including the area of the scroll element (E1) corresponds to the area where the user's swipe input to the scroll element (E1) is detected, and is located at the position of the scroll element (E1). It is created according to The scroll detection layer (L4) is preferably set to be larger in size than the scroll element (E1) to allow users to conveniently manipulate the map. Additionally, the scroll detection layer (L4) is set to a transparent state to prevent the problem of the map information provided by the
Figure 4 (b) shows the scroll element (E1) in one embodiment of the present invention, and the second graphic element (E3) displays the map enlargement ratio of the current map being output on the map layer (L1). do. 5x written in the second graphic element (E3) means that the current map being output on the map layer (L1) corresponds to a map enlarged by 5 times compared to a preset standard. The map enlargement ratio value described in the second graphic element (E3) changes corresponding to the enlargement and reduction of the map. In other words, even if the map is enlarged or reduced through not only the user's swipe input corresponding to a single point in the scroll detection layer (L4) but also the user's swipe input corresponding to a double point in the map layer (L1), the map enlargement ratio The value changes depending on the corresponding swipe input. In addition, the scroll element display step (S300) displays the current map enlargement ratio value on the scroll element (E1), thereby enabling the user to easily manipulate the map.
Figure 4 (c) is another embodiment of the present invention of the scroll element (E1), and shows another shape of the scroll element (E1). The graphic form of the scroll element (E1) is not limited to (a) of FIG. 4 and can vary in various ways, and the first graphic element (E2), which displays the map magnification ratio in a straight line, is a plurality of map magnifications. It includes ratio elements (E4-1 to E4-6, hereinafter E4), and each map enlargement ratio element (E4) may have a specific preset map enlargement ratio value written on it. The user can operate the map more conveniently by performing a swipe input as desired while looking at the map enlargement ratios corresponding to each of the first graphic element (E2) and the second graphic element (E3). Meanwhile, as another embodiment of the present invention, when the corresponding map is a high-resolution image, the number of map enlargement ratio elements (E4) included in the first graphic element (E2) is greater than when the map is a low-resolution image, providing detailed information to the user. Map enlargement ratio information can be provided.
Figure 5 schematically shows a map manipulation process according to a user's swipe input as an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 5, the enlargement/reduction step (S500) enlarges the map display screen when a downward swipe input is detected in the swipe detection step (S400), and the swipe detection step (S400) ), when an upward swipe input is detected, the map display screen is reduced.
Specifically, Figure 5(a) shows the process of reducing the map according to an upward swipe input. When the direction of the swipe input corresponding to the user's single point detected by the swipe detection step (S400) is upward, the second graphic element (E3) is directed upward corresponding to the swipe input, and the map The map displayed on layer (L1) is scaled down. Additionally, Figure 5(b) shows the process of enlarging the map according to a downward swipe input. When the direction of the swipe input corresponding to the user's single point detected by the swipe detection step (S400) is downward, the second graphic element (E3) is directed downward corresponding to the swipe input, and the The map displayed on the map layer (L1) is enlarged. Also, as described above, the map enlargement ratio value displayed on the second graphic element (E3) changes depending on the position of the second graphic element in the first graphic element (E2).
Meanwhile, in another embodiment of the present invention, the user's input for enlarging and reducing the map may change depending on the application or user's settings. The command information for enlarging the map is not limited to a swipe action such as spreading the thumb and index finger or spreading the index finger and middle finger, but allows the user to touch the area of the map layer (L1) for a preset short period of time. This may include a double tap action. At this time, when the map is enlarged by the double tap operation, the map enlargement ratio value may also change corresponding to the map enlargement, as described above in FIG. 4.

As shown in FIG. 6, schematically, FIG. 6(a) shows the movement of the scroll element E1 in one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 6(b) shows another embodiment of the present invention. shows the movement of the scroll element (E1), and Figure 6 (c) shows the movement of the scroll element (E1) based on the user's swipe input corresponding to a single point in another embodiment of the present invention. , Figure 6(d) shows the movement of the scroll element E1 based on the user's swipe input corresponding to the double point in another embodiment of the present invention.
Specifically, as shown in (a) of FIG. 6, in one embodiment of the present invention, when a user's swipe input is detected, the position of the scroll element (E1) excluding the second graphic element (E3) is fixed. The second graphic element (E3) moves up and down according to the user's swipe input. The user can conveniently enlarge and reduce the map with one hand while referring to the location of the moved second graphic element (E3). In addition, as shown in (b) of FIG. 6, in another embodiment of the present invention, when the user's swipe input is detected, the position of the second graphic element (E3) is fixed and the second graphic element (E3) Scroll elements (E1) except ) move up and down according to the swipe input. The user can conveniently enlarge and reduce the map with one hand while referring to the position of the scroll element (E1) excluding the moved second graphic element (E3).
Figure 6 (c) shows that in another embodiment shown in Figure 6 (b), when the downward swipe input is detected, the scroll element (E1) excluding the second graphic element (E3) moves down. Show the process. In addition, when the user's swipe input is detected, some of the upper or lower parts of the first graphic element (E2) in the map layer (L1) may not be output depending on the degree to which the user enlarges or reduces the map. there is. Figure 6 (d) shows a single point detected by the scroll detection layer (L4) when a scroll element (E1) is displayed on the map layer (L1) in another embodiment shown in Figure 6 (b). When the map layer (L1) detects the user's swipe input with a wide gap between double points, rather than the corresponding swipe input, and the map is enlarged, the map enlargement ratio of the enlarged map is 2This shows the process in which the scroll element (E1), excluding the graphic element (E3), goes down. Likewise, in the opposite case, when the user's touch input with narrow spacing between double points is detected in the map layer (L1) and the map is reduced, the second graphic element ( Scroll elements (E1) except E3) move up. Meanwhile, in one embodiment of the present invention, when the map is enlarged and reduced according to the swipe input corresponding to the user's double point, the positions of the scroll elements (E1) excluding the second graphic element (E3) are fixed, and The second graphic element (E3) moves up and down in response to the swipe input.
Figure 7 schematically shows display conditions of the scroll element E1 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 7, when the user's input is continuously detected on the map layer (L1) being displayed by the scroll element (E1), the scroll element (E1) continues to be displayed on the map layer (L1). On the other hand, if the user's input is not detected in the map layer (L1) for more than 3 seconds, the scroll element (E1) disappears from the map layer (L1).
Specifically, when the user's touch input or the user's swipe input is continuously detected with respect to the map layer (L1), the scroll element (E1) does not disappear from the map layer (L1) and continues to be at the corresponding position. displayed. This has the effect of preventing the inconvenience of having to touch the screen every time the user wants to enlarge or reduce the map. On the other hand, if the scroll element (E1) is continuously displayed on the map layer (L1) without constraints, the information on the map is obscured by the scroll element (E1), causing inconvenience to the user when trying to obtain map information. I can feel it. Therefore, if the user's touch input or swipe input is not detected based on a certain period of time, the scroll element (E1) disappears from the map layer (L1).
Meanwhile, in another embodiment of the present invention, the constant time is not limited to 3 seconds shown in FIG. 7 and can be changed in various ways depending on settings preset in the application or input by the user. In addition, the motion setting for the specific swipe input is set in the application so that the scroll element (E1) does not disappear even if no touch or swipe input is detected for a certain period of time through the user's specific swipe input corresponding to a single point. It may be preset or set by the user.
Figure 8 schematically shows operations possible in areas excluding the scroll element E1 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 8, even in a map display screen where the scroll element (E1) is not displayed, a swipe input is detected and the map being output is manipulated, and when the scroll element (E1) is displayed on the map display screen, A swipe input is detected in areas other than the scroll element E1, and the position of the map being output is moved or the map being output is enlarged or reduced.
Specifically, it often happens that a user moves from manipulating a map with one hand to manipulating it with two hands. For this case, even when the scroll element (E1) is displayed on the map layer (L1), the user's touch input for a single point is detected in the remaining area layer (L5) excluding the area of the scroll detection layer (L4), The user's swipe input for single point and double point is detected, and the map is moved or a zoom in/out step (S500) is performed according to the swipe input. Meanwhile, in another embodiment of the present invention, detection of the user's touch input or swipe input for the remaining area layer (L5) is deactivated through the user's specific touch input or specific swipe input, thereby preventing physical damage other than the user's intention. Alternatively, it can be set to prevent situations in which map manipulation errors occur due to input from electrical signals.
