More particularly, it relates to an antenna element including electrode lines and a display device including the same.
With the recent development of an information society, wireless communication technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are combined with a display device and implemented in the form of, for example, a smart phone. In this case, an antenna may be coupled to the display device to perform a communication function.
As mobile communication technology evolves in recent years, an antenna for performing communication in a very high frequency band needs to be coupled to the display device. In addition, as thin, high-transparency, high-resolution display devices such as transparent displays and flexible displays are recently developed, the antenna also needs to have improved transmittance while satisfying high radiation characteristics and signal sensitivity.
In order to improve the signal transmission/reception characteristics of the antenna, it may be desirable to form an electrode or a radiation pattern using a low-resistance metal. However, in this case, the electrode or radiation pattern may be recognized by a user of the display device, and image quality may be deteriorated. When the electrode design is changed to reduce the electrode visibility phenomenon, the reliability of radiation through the antenna may be reduced.
For example, Korean Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2013-0095451 discloses an antenna integrated into a display panel, but does not consider image degradation of a display device due to the antenna.
