Claims (21)
- 일 방향을 따라서 서로 교대로 배치되어 있고, 서로 위상 지연 특성이 상이한 제 1 영역 및 제 2 영역을 포함하는 위상 지연층; 상기 위상 지연층의 하부에 형성되어 있으며, 상기 일 방향을 따라서 교대로 배치되어 있고, 서로 상이한 방향으로 형성된 광 투과축을 가지는 제 1 및 제 2 편광 영역을 포함하는 패턴 편광층을 포함하는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 영역 및 제 2 영역은 1/4파장 위상 지연 특성을 가지는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 영역의 지상축과 제 2 영역의 지상축은 서로 상이한 방향으로 형성되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 영역 및 제 2 영역은 수평 배향된 중합성 액정 화합물을 포함하는 액정층인 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 영역 및 제 2 영역은 각각 일 방향과 수직한 방향으로 연장되는 스트라이프 형상을 가지면서 서로 인접하여 교대로 배치되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 영역 및 제 2 영역은 격자 형상으로 인접하여 서로 교대로 배치되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 편광 영역은 일 방향과 수직한 방향에서 관찰할 때에 제 1 또는 제 2 영역과 겹쳐지도록 배치되어 있고, 제 2 편광 영역은 상기 수직한 방향에서 관찰할 때에 제 1 및 제 2 영역의 경계와 겹쳐지도록 배치되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 패턴 편광층은 편광 물질의 코팅층인 광분할 소자.
- 제 8 항에 있어서, 편광 물질은 중합성 액정 화합물 및 이색성 염료를 포함하는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 편광 영역의 광 투과축과 제 2 편광 영역의 광 투과축이 이루는 각도는 70도 내지 110도인 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 1 영역의 지상축과 제 2 영역의 지상축이 이루는 각도를 이등분하는 선과 제 1 편광 영역의 광 투과축은 직교하거나 또는 평행한 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 2 편광 영역의 일 방향으로 측정된 길이는, 제 1 편광 영역의 상기 일 방향으로 측정된 길이와 같거나 또는 그 보다 작은 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 하기 수식 1을 만족하는 광분할 소자:

상기 수식 1에서 A는 제 1 편광 영역 중에서 제 1 영역과 겹쳐지는 제 1 편광 영역의 일 방향으로 측정된 길이이고, B는 제 2 편광 영역의 상기 일 방향으로 측정된 길이이며, L은 제 1 영역의 상기 일 방향으로 측정된 길이이다. - 제 2 항에 있어서, 하기 수식 2를 만족하는 광분할 소자:

상기 수식 2에서 C는 제 1 편광 영역 중에서 제 2 영역과 겹쳐지는 제 2 편광 영역의 일 방향으로 측정된 길이이고, B는 제 2 편광 영역의 상기 일 방향으로 측정된 길이이며, R은 제 2 영역의 상기 일 방향으로 측정된 길이이다. - 제 1 항에 있어서, 기재층을 추가로 포함하고, 위상 지연층과 패턴 편광층이 상기 기재층 상에 순차 형성되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 제 15 항에 있어서, 기재층과 위상 지연층 사이 및 위상 지연층과 패턴 편광층의 사이에 배향막을 추가로 포함하는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 기재층을 추가로 포함하고, 상기 기재층의 일면에는 위상 지연층이 형성되어 있고, 상기 기재층의 다른 면에는 패턴 편광층이 형성되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 제 17 항에 있어서, 기재층과 위상 지연층의 사이 및 기재층과 패턴 편광층의 사이에 배향막을 추가로 포함하는 광분할 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 패턴 편광층의 하부에 존재하는 하부 편광자를 추가로 포함하는 광분할 소자.
- 제 19 항에 있어서, 하부 편광자의 광 투과축과 제 1 편광 영역의 광 투과축은 평행한 방향으로 형성되어 있는 광분할 소자.
- 우안용 신호와 좌안용 신호를 생성할 수 있는 우안용 및 좌안용 신호 생성 영역을 포함하는 표시 패널 및 상기 표시 패널의 상부에 배치된 제 1 항의 광분할 소자를 포함하는 입체 영상 표시 장치.
