The present invention relates to an optical fiber loop sensor provided with a fiber optic line sensor in a power control panel including at least one of a water front panel, an electric panel, an electric motor control panel, a high pressure panel, a low pressure panel and a distribution panel, To an arc monitoring system of a switchboard.
The optical fiber loop sensor includes a plurality of light incidence portions processed to receive an arc flash from the side along the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber, and only a specific wavelength band of the arc wavelength band is input to each light incidence portion To an arc monitoring system for a switchboard having an optical fiber loop sensor having an optical band pass filter.
It is necessary to maximize the benefits of the current power system because it is not easy to replace the existing equipment immediately and expand the facilities. In this situation, the possibility of accidents such as arc flash is increased during operation of power facilities, and the damages caused by interruption of power supply for only a few seconds are enormous. Therefore, it is one of the most important issues in Hyundai Electric Power System to ensure smooth operation of electric power facilities and ensure stability / reliability in order to prevent the possibility of a minor accident from being overlooked. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the sensor safety control system which can monitor and block them.
Typically, electric fires are caused by short-circuit, over-current, arc, short-circuit, etc. during an electric disaster. Also, it is a major cause of the user's surrounding environment (flooded condition, gas, temperature, connection failure of home outlets). Especially, in the existing switchgear, power failure and electric accident are frequently occurred without notice due to internal component failure and insulation deterioration. Because there is no way to detect arc and partial discharge in the switchboard in order to prevent power outages and electric accidents in the existing switchboards.
As a method for preventing the occurrence of such a safety accident, a water distribution facility having a power shutoff function through arc flash detection is disclosed in
On the other hand, the water distribution equipment can continuously supply electric power to equipment using an arc such as an electric arc furnace or an electric arc furnace which melts metal or the like. The arc flash generated in such an arc utilizing equipment may have the same or similar wavelength as the arc flash which may occur in the water distribution facility. As such, the arc sensor in the water distribution equipment can detect a normal arc flash (i.e., an external arc flash) according to a normal occurrence factor by an arc flash generated in the inside of the water distribution facility due to an accident or insulation deterioration. Therefore, the water distribution equipment according to the

The
In addition, the switchgear or power control panel is installed in a building or factory using a large amount of electric power, and is divided into a water main panel, an electric distribution panel, a distribution panel panel, etc. according to its use, and distributes electric power to the inside of the

The
Next, the
That is, the
Preferably, the
The
The

Next, an optical
2, the optical
A plastic optical fiber having a large core ratio is advantageous for detecting light generated by an arc flash with a single stranded optical fiber. Preferably, a plastic optical fiber having a core / cladding size of 980/1000 μm is used. The plastic optical fiber structure and the material classification are as shown in FIG. 3, and a high-purity acrylic resin (PMMA: polymethyl methacrylate) step index profile optical fiber having a relatively large transmission transmission is used. That is, a plastic optical fiber is composed of a core made of high-purity acrylic resin (PMMA) and a thin clad layer made of fluorine polymer (F-PMMA), and the refractive index of the clad is lower than that of the core It is preferable to use a step index profile having a light emitting function at the side, because the light coming from one end of the optical fiber causes total reflection at the connection surface of the core and the clad to reach the other end of the optical fiber through the core Do.
The parameters related to the light guiding condition in the optical fiber are the total internal reflection and the critical angle. The total internal reflection is a condition for guiding the light incident into the optical fiber without loss, and the critical angle is the minimum incident angle at which total internal reflection occurs. Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 4, the light guiding condition of the optical fiber generally causes total reflection at the core and the cladding boundary because the core has a higher refractive index than the cladding, and the light continues to travel.
As shown in FIG. 5, the numerical aperture (NA) is a numerical value that determines an incident angle that determines the propagation of light in the optical fiber. In order to transmit external light through the optical fiber by focusing the light on the optical fiber end, The incident light should be incident at a smaller angle, and if it is larger than this, optical loss due to insertion loss occurs.
The conditions of the plastic optical fiber for increasing the arc flash light receiving efficiency are shown in the table of Fig. In the case of a plastic index fiber with a relatively large NA value, the indexing tolerance range of the loop sensors Tx and Rx is large, which is advantageous for packaging. However, the arc flash receiving efficiency due to the difference in core / Graded Index (GI) can be lower than plastic optical fiber. Also, it can be seen that the GI-POF is relatively smaller than the SI-POF even in the transmission loss per km, and thus it is more preferable to use the SI-POF as the arc flash sensing optical fiber.
Although considering only two kinds of refractive index profiles of plastic optical fiber, it is preferable to use a plastic optical fiber having a large transmission loss in selecting the optical fiber because it is suitable as an arc flash optical fiber sensor for an optical fiber having a large transmission loss.
On the other hand, it is possible to use a specially fabricated optical fiber loop in which an optical fiber bundle is coated with a polymer material having a light absorbing characteristic. Preferably, only one ordinary optical fiber is used in the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 7, the optical fiber loop sensor according to the present invention detects an arc flash optical signal incident through a side surface of an optical fiber installed in a continuous section and transmits it to a relay. Specifically, when an optical signal is propagated through an optical fiber, a light signal of a weak intensity passes through the side surface, and the loop sensor is a sensor utilizing this phenomenon in reverse. This phenomenon can be maximized through a plastic optical fiber. For this purpose, a
The
The band-
Transmission loss (ultraviolet absorption loss, material loss) of the plastic optical fiber by wavelength is also considered. In the case of an arc flash having a wavelength spectrum of 325 nm, 380 nm and 525 nm, it is desirable to detect a band around 525 nm in consideration of the transmission loss in the optical fiber. More preferably, it is preferable to detect the band from 500 nm to 550 nm. However, in order to prevent malfunction of the sensor, a filter that transmits only wavelengths in the 500 nm to 550 nm band is formed in the PD (partial discharge) window, and a filter that blocks wavelengths in the band of 500 nm to 550 nm is configured in the peripheral light source such as a room lamp . Therefore, it is preferable that the band-
The
On the other hand, preferably, each
By setting the transmission wavelength band of each
In another embodiment, the respective
At this time, preferably, the
When the etching depth of the
That is, a difference in light receiving ability is assigned to the light received by the
The lens section 23 is formed at a tip end of the
8, in order to improve the arc flash sensitivity using the ultraviolet absorbing material, a
Generally, when molecules of a polymer are irradiated with light, the molecules absorb this energy, and electrons move, such as molecules rotating or resonance vibrations between atoms. When such electron movement occurs, the light is absorbed and the transmittance is lowered.
Absorption of light is largely divided into 'electron transition absorption' in the ultraviolet region and 'molecular vibration absorption' in the infrared region. In the case of an arc flash, coating efficiency of the plastic optical fiber with a substance which is well absorbed by the electronic cloth can increase the detection efficiency.
The electronic transient absorption will be further described as follows.
In general, since optical materials often use sunlight, the transmittance in the visible light region is important. It is mainly governed by ultraviolet absorption based on the photoexcitation of electrons, ie, 'electron transition absorption', and 'electron transition absorption' depends on the bond strength between the atoms that make up the material.
Polymer systems composed of single bonds based on δ electrons with strong bonds are difficult to electronically move and absorb light because electrons are mutually bound. However, a polymer system having a weak double bond from a π electron in a molecular chain is absorbed because the electron movement occurs and the energy level of the electron changes when the light is irradiated.
Typical examples are π → π * transition due to double bond such as benzene ring and azo group, n → π * transition by CO group, and n → δ * based on SH bond.
In addition, UV-A wavelength is divided into 400 ~ 320nm, UV-B 320 ~ 280nm and UV-C 280nm.
Further, the arc flash spectrum wavelength is in the vicinity of 325 nm, 380 nm, and 525 nm.
Benzophenone, benzotriazole, salicylate, cyanoacrylate, oxanilide, other hindered amine, and metal complex salt light stabilizers can be used for the sensor coating.
Next, the configuration of the light detection means 24 applied to the arc monitoring system according to the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 9 to 13. Fig.
The optical detecting means 24 according to the present invention detects an arc flash optical signal incident through a line or loop sensor unit connected to an optical fiber cable and detecting an arc at an end of the optical fiber and a side of an optical fiber cable installed in a continuous section, And a loop sensor unit.
Although there is an arc sensor composed of one sensor per sensor channel and a point sensor composed only of a photodetector, and a line sensor (or a loop sensor) for detecting an arc at the end of the optical fiber connected to the optical fiber, in the present invention, The loop sensor is applied.
The loop sensor reversely utilizes a phenomenon in which an optical signal of a weak intensity passes through the side surface when the optical signal travels through the optical fiber. This phenomenon can be maximized through a plastic optical fiber, and an optical fiber suitable for a loop sensor is selected in the present invention. In addition, in the prior art, a specially manufactured optical fiber loop coated with a polymer material having a light absorbing characteristic is used for an optical fiber bundle. However, in the present invention, only one strand of a plastic optical fiber having a core is used compared to a cladding.
Fig. 9 is a block diagram of an optical transmitter provided in the light detecting means according to the present invention, and Fig. 10 is a circuit diagram of an optical transmitter in an arc flash loop sensor.
The optical fiber uses a plastic optical fiber and an optical transmitter for loop light sensor trip is constructed to detect the light intensity of the arc formed in the visible region.
Particularly, the circuit diagram of Fig. 10 is a TO-CAN type LD driving circuit.
9 and 10, when the laser diode LD driving signal is inputted through the terminal CON4 in the control unit (not shown), the voltage-current conversion unit 241 (R16, R17) An operating current is supplied to the operating state indicating LED or the operating state indicating portion 243 (D10) and the laser diodes 242 (D9). The operation state display LED D10 is turned on by the supply of the operation current to display the operation state of the optical transmitter. The laser diode D9 transmits light corresponding to the operation current to the
The transmission and trip can be optimized by providing the structure as described above.
FIG. 11 is a block diagram of a side light receiving receiver provided with a
11 and 12, the light reception through the
By providing a photodiode receiving circuit as shown in Figs. 11 and 12, the sensor sensitivity and the trip level can be optimized.
13 is a circuit diagram of an arc flash loop sensor unit according to the present invention.
13 is an arc flash photodiode-based sensor, which is configured to detect the light intensity of a 325 to 450 nm, or 500 to 550 nm wavelength region arc through a UV region filter process on a TO-CAN PD window Fig.
Since the loop sensor is more dependent on the optical fiber side light receiving efficiency than the point sensor, the present invention maximizes the sensitivity of the photodiode (PD) and then changes the resistance value and tracks the minimum resistance value for 10 klux.
By maximizing the sensitivity of the fabricated loop sensor, it has a wide dynamic range of 10 ~ 45 klux. The test results show that the fabricated loop sensor satisfies the condition of 10 ~ 40 klux and the response to the arc light is completed within 2.5 msec maximum. In addition, the method of maximizing the sensitivity of the optical detector and the method of forming the scratch pattern on the plastic optical fiber surface were very effective.
Next, another example of the configuration of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 14 and 15. Fig.
FIG. 14 is a basic configuration diagram of an arc flash optical fiber sensor using a balanced detector, and FIG. 15 is a flowchart illustrating an optical arc detection algorithm using the balance detector shown in FIG.
14 is characterized in that it comprises a first photodetector and a second photodetector which is opposite in phase to the first photodetector.
That is, the arc flash light detection using the balance detector is effective for noise suppression and sensitivity improvement.
As shown in Fig. 14, the balance detector is effective for detection of a small-sized signal through noise suppression, which is a photodetector having the same output of Ch + and Ch-, which are composed of photodiodes having the same characteristics but have different phases.
Such a balance detector uses a multimode optical fiber splitter to divide the optical pulses generated by the arc flash into 50% of the divided optical pulses, inputting the pulses to the respective channels + and -, and then superimposing the electrical signals from the respective photodiodes, Thereby improving the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
따라서, 광섬유 표면을 통해 입사된 매우 약한 광신호를 APD(avalanche photo diode) 혹은 TIA(transimpedance amplifier)를 통한 증폭과정을 거치지 않고 신호 콘트라스트(contrast)의 향상이 가능하다.Therefore, it is possible to improve the signal contrast without amplifying very weak optical signals incident through the surface of the optical fiber through an APD (avalanche photo diode) or a TIA (transimpedance amplifier).
It is impossible to detect small signals due to normal noise. However, by employing the configuration of the balance detector according to the present invention, it is possible to suppress noise, and is effective for threshold voltage adjustment and signal processing for judging the occurrence of arc flash.
Next, light arc detection using the balance detector will be described with reference to Fig.
(S10).The outputs of the channels Ch + and Ch- of the balance detector shown in FIG. 14 are measured (S10).
(S40).Thereafter, the control unit (not shown) compares the measured channel values measured in step S10 and measures the difference. In step S30, the measured difference value is output in step S20. If the difference is greater than the preset sensitivity, the light arc is determined to be generated in step S40.
If the difference value is within the predetermined light sensitivity in step S40, the process is terminated.
On the other hand, if it is determined in step S40 that the light arc is generated, the process proceeds to step S10 and repeats the above-described process.
By employing the above-described configuration of the balance detector, it is possible to accurately and quickly determine whether or not an arc flash is generated.
