Abstract

본 발명은 BCAST 방송에서 MBMS User ServiceID 를 구성하는 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 단순히 결합하는 것이 아니라 추후에 다시 분리할 수 있도록 한 메시지 구성 방법을 제공한다. 이를 위해 본 발명에서는 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 사이에 특정의 구분자를 삽입하여 MBMS User ServiceID 를 구성함으로써, 휴대 단말이 MBMS User ServiceID 에서 구분자를 기준으로 두 식별자를 분리할 수 있도록 한다.

Description

휴대 방송에서 구매 서비스 목록 관리를 위한 메시지 구성 방법{METHOD FOR COMPOSING MESSAGE FOR MANAGEMENT OF PURCHASE SERVICE LIST IN PORTABLE BROADCASTING}
본 발명은 OMA(Open Mobile Appliance)의 BCAST 작업 그룹(Work Group)에서 제정 중인 Service & Content Protection 규격에 관한 것이다. OMA BCAST Service & Content Protection 규격은 사업 모델과 적용되는 기술에 따라 DRM(Digital Right Management) 프로파일과 스마트카드(Smartcard) 프로파일로 구분되는데, 본 발명은 스마트카드 프로파일에 적용되는 것이다.
OMA BCAST Service & Content Protection 규격은 현재 표준 작업이 완료된 상태이다(2007년 5월 29일자 Candidate 1.0 공표). Service & Content Protection 규격은 휴대 방송 서비스를 위하여 서비스 암호화(Service Protection) 및 서비스 접속(Service Access)에 관한 기술을 정의하고 있다. 휴대 단말에서 유료 방송 서비스에 접속하여 해당 서비스를 이용하려면, 도 1과 같은 과정을 거쳐야 한다.
도 1에 도시된 바와 같이, 먼저 휴대 단말은 유료 방송 서비스에 대한 구매 요청 메시지를 서버에 전송한다(S1). 구매 요청 메시지는 해당 서비스를 유일하게 구별할 수 있는 두 개의 식별자, GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 이용하여 OMA BCAST 규격에서 정의한 메시지 형식으로 구성된다. GlobalPurchaseItemID 라는 식별자는 구매 동작 또는 구매 항목과 관련된 동작 시 구매 항목(예를 들어, 유료 방송 채널)을 유일하게 구별하는 식별자이고, PurchaseDataID 라는 식별자는 상기 구매 항목의 하위 그룹에 속하는 구매 데이터(예를 들어, 특정 방송 채널의 프로그램)를 유일하게 구별하는 식별자이다. 구매 요청 메시지를 수신하면, 서버는 휴대 단말에 대하여 과금을 수행하고, 구매 확인 메시지를 전송한다(S2). 구매 확인 메시지를 수신하면, 휴대 단말은 해당 서비스의 등록을 위해서 등록 요청 메시지를 전송한다(S3). 등록 요청 메시지에는 휴대 단말의 사용자가 원하는 서비스의 MBMS User ServiceID 를 명시해야 한다. MBMS User ServiceID 는 구매 요청 단계(S1)에서 사용한 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 가 단순히 결합되어 있는 형태(concatenation)로 이루어져 있다. 등록 요청 메시지를 수신하면, 서버는 서비스 등록을 수행하고, 등록 확인 메시지를 전송한다(S4). 등록 확인 메시지를 수신하면, 휴대 단말과 서버 간에 UDP 세션이 열리고, UDP 프로토콜을 이용하여 서버에서 휴대 단말로 암호화키가 전송된다(S5). 암호화키는 BCAST 규격에서 정의한 SEK(Service Encryption Key)/PEK(Program Encryption Key)가 될 수 있으며, 이 암호화키를 이용함으로써 방송 서비스의 비디오/오디오 데이터에 걸려 있는 암호를 풀 수 있다. 암호화키는 휴대 단말의 SIM 카드에 저장될 수 있으며, 암호화키를 수신한 휴대 단말은 유료 방송 서비스에 접속하여 비로소 방송 시청 등 해당 서비스를 이용할 수 있다.
현재 BCAST 규격을 이용하여 서비스를 시작하려는 사업자는 상기 구매 과정(S1, S2)을 생략한 사업 모델을 추진하고 있다. 일반적으로 특정 유료 방송 채널을 시청하기 위해서는 구매 과정(S1, S2)이 필요하나, 최근 BCAST 사업자들 사이에서 사용자의 휴대 단말로부터 명시적인 구매가 없더라도 해당 단말에서 방송 채널이 구매가 된 것으로 서버가 설정하는 서비스를 고려하고 있다. 예를 들어, 행사기간 중 단말을 구입한 사용자에게 무료로 특정 서비스를 제공하거나 휴대 단말을 통해 유료 채널을 구매하지 않고 인터넷을 통해 구매하는 경우가 이에 해당될 수 있다. 이와 같이 구매 과정(S1, S2)을 거치지 않은 휴대 단말은 바로 서버로 등록 과정을 수행하게 된다. 휴대 단말이 등록 과정을 바로 수행하게 되면, 상기와 같이 MBMS User ServiceID 가 명시되어 있는 등록 요청 메시지가 전송되는 것이 아니라, 단순히 구매된 서비스 목록에 대한 등록을 요청하는 메시지가 전송된다. 즉, 휴대 단말에서는 어떤 서비스를 구매했는지 알 수 없기 때문에, 서버에 보내는 메시지에 MBMS User ServiceID 를 넣지 않고 allService 라는 내용을 넣어 보내게 된다. 이 때 서버는 등록 요청에 대한 응답으로서 구매된 모든 서비스(단말을 통해 구매한 서비스 및 단말을 통하지 않고 구매한 서비스)의 MBMS User ServiceID 를 휴대 단말로 전송한다. 이러한 과정이 끝나면 휴대 단말은 해당 서비스에 대한 구매 과정을 거치지 않고 바로 서비스를 이용할 수 있다.
그런데, 휴대 단말에서 구매 서비스 목록을 관리하려면 상기 두 개의 식별자 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 사용해야 한다. 하지만, 구매 과정이 생략된 사업 모델에서는 휴대 단말이 서버로부터 바로 MBMS User ServiceID 를 수신하기 때문에 두 식별자를 분리해 낼 수 없어서, 구매 서비스 목록을 관리할 수 없다는 문제점이 있다.
본 발명은 상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, MBMS User ServiceID 를 구성하는 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 단순히 결합하는 것이 아니라 추후에 다시 분리할 수 있도록 한 메시지 구성 방법을 제공한다.
현재 휴대 단말이 유료 방송 서비스의 구매 과정 없이 등록을 통해 바로 해당 서비스를 이용하게 되면, 서버로부터 MBMS User ServiceID 를 바로 받게 되어 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 분리할 수 없어서, 구매 서비스 목록을 알 수 없었으나, 본 발명을 사용하면 휴대 단말에서 두 식별자의 분리가 가능하므로 구매한 모든 서비스에 대한 목록 관리가 원활히 수행될 수 있다.
이하, 본 발명에 따른 실시예를 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
BCAST 규격에서 정의하고 있는 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 에는 어떠한 아스키 스트링(ASCII string)의 URI도 가능하므로, 휴대 단말이 어떤 서비스를 구매했는지 모르는 상황에서, 단순히 두 개의 식별자 사이에 구분자를 두는 방식으로는 두 개의 식별자를 구분할 수 없다.
여기서 두 가지 방식으로 MBMS User ServiceID 를 구성하는 예를 설명한다.
우선, 도 2는 본 발명의 제 1 실시 예에 따라 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 공백 문자로 구분하는 예를 나타낸다.
anyURI 형식에 대한 World Wide Web Consortium 정의에 따르면, anyURI 에서는 공백 문자를 그대로 사용할 수 없기 때문에 별도로 변환하여 사용하도록 하고 있다. 따라서 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 사이에 공백 문자(‘ ’)를 구분자로 삽입하면 차후에 MBMS User ServiceID 에서 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 분리할 수 있게 된다.
도 2에서, GlobalPurchaseItemID 가 “gpid-999” 이고, PurchaseDataID 가 “pdid123”일 때, 두 식별자의 값을 공백 문자로 구분하여 결합하면 MBMS User ServiceID 는 “gpid-999 pdid123” 가 된다. 휴대 단말에서는 공백 문자를 기준으로 두 개의 식별자를 구분하여 분리할 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명의 제 2 실시 예에 따라 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 특정의 문자로 구분하는 예를 나타낸다.
제 2 실시 예에서는 GlobalPurchaseItemID 와 PurchaseDataID 를 특정의 인코딩 방법으로 각각 변환하여, 변환된 두 개의 식별자를 결합하여 MBMS User ServiceID 를 구성하는데, 이때 변환된 두 개의 식별자 사이에 인코딩 결과에서 나오지 않는 문자를 구분자로 삽입하게 된다. 두 식별자를 분리할 때는, 휴대 단말이 사용된 인코딩 방법을 알고 있으므로, MBMS User ServiceID 에서 인코딩 후 나오지 않는 문자를 찾아내어 구분자로 인식하고, 이 구분자를 기준으로 두 개의 인코딩된 식별자를 디코딩하면 두 개의 식별자를 분리할 수 있게 된다.
예를 들어, Base64 라는 인코딩 방법을 사용하는 경우, 인코딩 시 사용되지 않는 # 문자를 구분자로 사용할 수 있다. 도 3에서, GlobalPurchaseItemID 가 “gpid-999” 이고, PurchaseDataID 가 “pdid123”일 때, GlobalPurchaseItemID 를 base64 인코딩 방법으로 인코딩하면 “Z3BpZC05OTk=”가 되고, PurchaseDataID 를 base64 인코딩 방법으로 인코딩하면 “cGRpZDEyMw==”가 된다. 이 후 인코딩 변환된 두 식별자의 값을 # 문자로 구분하여 결합하면, MBMS User ServiceID 는 “Z3BpZC05OTk=#cGRpZDEyMw==” 가 된다. 휴대 단말에서는 # 문자를 기준으로 두 개의 식별자를 구분하여 각각 디코딩하면 두 개의 식별자를 분리할 수 있다.

Claims (7)

  1. 메시지 구성 방법에 있어서,
    구매 아이템을 구별하는 제1 식별자를 제1 인코딩된 식별자로 인코딩하는 과정과,
    구매 데이터를 구별하는 제2 식별자를 제2 인코딩된 식별자로 인코딩하는 과정과,
    서버에 의해서 MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) 사용자 서비스 아이디를 구성하기 위해 상기 제1 인코딩된 식별자와 상기 제2 인코딩된 식별자 사이에 구분자를 삽입하는 과정과,
    상기 서버에 의해서 휴대 단말로 상기 MBMS 사용자 서비스 아이디를 전송하는 과정을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 메시지 구성 방법.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 구분자는 공백 문자인 것을 특징으로 하는 메시지 구성 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 구분자는 # 문자인 것을 특징으로 하는 메시지 구성 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 구매 아이템은 변경된 방송 채널인 것을 특징으로 하는 메시지 구성 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 구매 데이터는 특정 방송 채널의 프로그램인 것을 특징으로 하는 메시지 구성 방법.
  6. 서버가 구매 서비스 아이디를 전송하는 방법에 있어서,
    휴대 단말로부터 서비스 등록 요청을 수신하는 단계와,
    상기 등록 요청된 서비스를 구별하기 위해 구매 아이템을 구별하는 제1 식별자를 인코딩하는 것에 의해서 생성된 제 1 인코딩된 식별자와 구매 데이터를 구별하는 제2 식별자를 인코딩하는 것에 의해서 생성된 제 2 인코딩된 식별자 사이에 구분자를 삽입하여 MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) 사용자 서비스 아이디를 구성하는 단계와,
    상기 MBMS 사용자 서비스 아이디를 상기 휴대 단말로 전송하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 구매 서비스 아이디 전송 방법.
  7. 제6항에 있어서,
    상기 휴대 단말에서 수신한 상기 MBMS 사용자 서비스 아이디에서 상기 구분자를 기준으로 상기 제 1 식별자와 상기 제 2 식별자를 분리하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 구매 서비스 아이디 전송 방법.
