Abstract

중계기 시스템의 용량을 증대시킬 수 있는 중계기 확장 시스템을 개시한다. 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 디지털 신호로 변환하고, 상기 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환하는 메인 허브 유닛과, 메인 허브 유닛과 트위스트 페어 케이블 또는 광케이블로 연결되고 상술한 기지국과 다른 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 디지털 신호로 변환하며, 디지털 신호를 메인 허브 유닛으로 전송하는 적어도 하나의 추가 메인 허브 유닛과, 메인 허브 유닛으로부터 광신호를 전송받아 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호로 구분하고, 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하는 분배 허브 유닛과, 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호를 변환한 트위스트 페어 신호 또는 추가된 섹터 신호를 변환한 트위스트 페어 신호 중 적어도 하나의 신호를 전송받아 RF신호로 변환하여 안테나를 통해 중계하는 적어도 하나의 원격 분배 유닛을 포함하므로, 기존의 중계기 시스템의 용량 증대 시 트위스트 페어 케이블, 광 케이블 등의 추가 설치 비용을 최소화할 수 있다.

Description

중계기 확장 시스템{REPEATER EXPANSION SYSTEM}
본 발명은 기존의 중계기 시스템의 용량을 증대시킬 수 있는 중계기 확장 시스템에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 이동 통신망 시스템은 음성 통화 및 데이터 전송을 위한 스위칭을 수행하는 주요 기기로서 이동통신 교환기를 중심으로 하여, 해당 이동통신 교환기가 관할하는 지역을 다수개의 섹터로 나누어서 다수개가 분포되어 있는 무선 기지국과, 각 기지국을 지역별로 묶어서 복수개의 기지국을 각각 관리하는 기지국 제어기가 설치된다.
이동 통신망 시스템의 무선 기지국은 자신이 관할하는 영역의 커버리지에서 이동통신 단말기 가입자가 원활하게 통신이 가능하도록 지역별로 다수개가 설치되어 있지만, 자신의 관할 영역이 고층 빌딩, 고층 아파트 등이 많이 있는 도심 지역 또는 아파트 단지 지역인 경우에, 건물 등의 장애물로 인해 원활한 통신을 진행할 수 없는 음영 지역이 존재하게 된다.
이에 따라, 건물 지하나 철골 구조물 내에서 나타나는 전파 음영을 해소하거나 특정 지역의 커버리지를 확장하기 위하여 중계기 시스템이 이용된다. 중계기 시스템은 다수의 전파 중계기 장치를 광 선로나 동축케이블을 사용하여 기지국 시스템과 연결하여 기지국 시스템과 이동통신 단말기 간에 송수신되는 신호를 중계하는 시스템이다. 광선로나 동축케이블을 사용하는 중계기 시스템의 특징은 선로상의 손실이 적고 잡음에 강한 특징이 있기 때문에 고품질의 신호를 송수신할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
한편, 기존에 설치된 중계기 시스템에서 용량 증대 시 광선로나 동축 케이블을 건물 내에 추가로 설치하여야 하므로 그 설치 비용이 크게 증가한다는 문제가 있다.
본 발명의 목적은 기존의 중계기 시스템의 용량 증대 시 투자 비용을 최소화할 수 있는 중계기 확장시스템을 제공하는 것이다.
전술한 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 일실시예에 의한 중계기 확장 시스템은 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 디지털 신호로 변환하고, 상기 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환하는 메인 허브 유닛;과 상기 메인 허브 유닛과 트위스트 페어 케이블 또는 광케이블로 연결되고 상기 기지국과 다른 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 디지털 신호로 변환하며, 상기 디지털 신호를 상기 메인 허브 유닛으로 전송하는 적어도 하나의 추가 메인 허브 유닛;과 상기 메인 허브 유닛으로부터 광신호를 전송받아 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호로 구분하고, 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하는 분배 허브 유닛;과 상기 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호를 변환한 트위스트 페어 신호 또는 추가된 섹터 신호를 변환한 트위스트 페어 신호 중 적어도 하나의 신호를 전송받아 RF신호로 변환하여 안테나를 통해 중계하는 적어도 하나의 원격 분배 유닛을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 메인 허브 유닛과 상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 트위스트 페어 케이블 또는 광 케이블로 연결될 수 있도록 트위스트 페어 포트 또는 광 포트를 구비할 수 있다.
상기 메인 허브 유닛은 자체적으로 변환한 상기 RF신호와 상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛으로부터 전송된 RF신호를 조합하여 프레임을 생성하는 프레이머를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 프레이머를 통해 프레임으로 변환된 상기 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환하는 광 트랜시버를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환하는 주파수 변환부와, 상기 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환하는 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 기지국으로부터 전송되는 상기 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환하는 주파수 변환부와, 상기 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환하는 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 통해 변환된 디지털 신호를 고속으로 처리할 수 있도록 신호 처리하는 디지털 신호 처리부를 포함하고,
상기 디지털 신호 처리부를 통해 신호 처리된 디지털 신호를 상기 메인 허브 유닛으로 전송할 수 있다.
상기 분배 허브 유닛은 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 구분하는 섹터분리부를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 분배 허브 유닛은 상기 섹터분리부에서 섹터 구분되어 전송되는 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하거나, 상기 섹터 분리부에서 섹터 구분되기 전 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하는 데이터 변환부를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 분배 허브 유닛은 상기 섹터 구분되어 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환된 신호를 섹터 구분하여 원격 분배 유닛에 전송하는 데이터 전송부를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 원격 분배 유닛은 기존에 설치된 원격 분배 유닛과 추가로 설치된 원격 분배 유닛을 포함하고, 상기 데이터 전송부는 기존에 사용되는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 기존에 설치된 원격 분배 유닛과 추가적으로 설치된 원격 분배 유닛에 선택적으로 전송할 수 있다.
상기 원격 분배 유닛은 복수 개이며, 상기 데이터 전송부는 기존에 사용되는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 기존에 설치된 복수 개의 원격 분배 유닛에 선택적으로 전송할 수 있다.
상기 원격 분배 유닛과 상기 추가 원격 분배 유닛은 상기 트위스트 페어 신호를 IF신호로 변환하는 디지털 트랜시버와, 상기 IF신호를 RF신호로 변환하는 RF컨버터를 포함할 수 있다.
이상에서 상세히 살펴본 바와 같이, 본 발명의 일측면에 의하면 기존의 중계기 시스템의 용량 증대 시 트위스트 페어 케이블, 광 케이블 등의 추가 설치 비용을 최소화할 수 있다.

이하에서는 첨부도면을 참조하여 본 발명에 대해 상세히 설명한다.
도 1은 일반적인 중계기 시스템을 기능적으로 도시한 블록구성도이며, 도 2는 도 1의 중계기 시스템의 용량을 증대하는 종래의 방법을 설명하기 위한 중계기 확장 시스템의 블록구성도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 중계기 시스템은 기지국(10)과, 메인 허브 유닛(20)과, 분배 허브 유닛(30)과, 원격 분배 유닛(40)과, 안테나(50)를 포함할 수 있다.
기지국(10)은 적어도 하나 설치되며, 메인 허브 유닛(20)과 동축 케이블을 통해 통신할 수 있다. 기지국(10)은 특정 대역 예를 들면, 800MHz 대역에서 확산대역기술을 이용한 디지털 이동통신방식인 CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)방식 또는 고속 무선데이터 패킷 통신 규격인 LTE(Long Term Evolution)방식으로 통신하는 BTS(Base Transceiver Station)일 수 있다.
메인 허브 유닛(20)은 기지국(10)으로부터 전송된 RF(Radio Frequency)신호를 IF(Intermediate Frequency)신호로 변환한다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 아날로그 신호인 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환한다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 변환된 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환한다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 광케이블을 통해 분배 허브 유닛(30)으로 광신호를 전송한다.
분배 허브 유닛(30)은 메인 허브 유닛(20)으로부터 전송된 광신호를 UTP신호로 변환한다. 분배 허브 유닛(30)은 UTP신호를 이더넷을 사용하는 트위스트 페어 케이블을 통해 원격 분배 유닛(40)에 전송할 수 있다.
트위스트 페어 케이블은 크게 UTP(Unshielded Twisted Pair Cable)와 STP(Shielded Twisted Pair Cable)로 구분되며, UTP는 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T 등의 규격 이더넷에 사용되며, STP는 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, 1000Base-CX 등의 규격의 이더넷에 사용된다.
원격 분배 유닛(40)은 음영 지역에 복수 개 설치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 원격 분배 유닛(40)은 건물의 각 층마다 설치될 수 있다. 원격 분배 유닛(40)은 분배 허브 유닛(30)으로부터 전송된 UTP신호를 IF신호로 변환한다. 원격 분배 유닛(40)은 IF신호를 RF신호로 변환한다. 원격 분배 유닛(40)은 RF신호를 안테나(50)를 통해 무선으로 중계한다.
도 2를 참조하면, 종래의 중계기 확장 시스템은 용량을 증대시키기 위해 메인 허브 유닛(23), 분배 허브 유닛(33)를 추가로 설치한다.
중계기 확장 시스템에서는 기존에 설치된 중계기 시스템에서 용량을 증대시키기 위해 메인 허브 유닛(23)과, 메인 허브 유닛(23)과 광케이블을 통해 연결되는 분배 허브 유닛(33)과, 분배 허브 유닛(33)과 동축 케이블을 통해 연결되는 원격 분배 유닛(43)과, 원격 분배 유닛(43)에 연결된 안테나(53)를 추가로 설치한다.
종래의 중계기 확장 시스템은 이미 설치된 중계기 시스템을 보완할 수 있도록 추가적으로 광케이블, 트위스트 페어 케이블 및 동축케이블을 설치하여야 한다. 그러나, 광케이블, 트위스트 페어 케이블 및 동축 케이블은 비용이 고가이며 설치 비용이 추가적으로 들게 된다. 이하, 건물 내에 광케이블, 트위스트 페어 케이블 및 동축케이블의 추가 설치로 인한 비용 부담을 최소화할 수 있는 본 발명의 일측면에 의한 중계기 확장 시스템을 설명한다.
도 3은 본 발명의 일측면에 의한 중계기 확장 시스템을 도시한 블록구성도이다.
중계기 확장 시스템은 기지국(10), 메인 허브 유닛(20), 분배 허브 유닛(30), 복수 개의 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44), 안테나(50)을 포함할 수 있다. 중계기 확장 시스템은 추가 기지국(13), 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)을 포함할 수 있다. 복수 개의 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 기존에 설치된 복수 개의 원격 분배 유닛이거나, 기존에 설치된 복수 개의 원격 분배 유닛에 추가된 원격 분배 유닛을 모두 포함할 수 있다.
중계기 확장 시스템의 메인 허브 유닛(20)과 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 트위스트 페어 케이블 또는 광케이블로 연결될 수 있다. 중계기 확장 시스템의 메인 허브 유닛(20)과 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 서로 간에 케이블을 통해 연결될 수 있도록 포트가 구비될 수 있다. 연결 케이블이 트위스트 페어 케이블인 경우 포트는 트위스트 페어 포트이며, 연결 케이블이 광 케이블인 경우 포트는 광 포트이다.
메인 허브 유닛(20)과 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26) 간의 연결 관계에 대해서는 도 4를 참조하여 구체적으로 설명한다.
추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 기존의 메인 허브 유닛(20)에서 제공하는 주파수 대역의 여유 공간을 활용하여 용량을 증대할 수 있도록 추가 기지국(13)과 연결된다.
추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 추가 기지국(13)으로부터 입력된 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환한다. 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 변환된 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환한다. 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 변환된 디지털 신호를 트위스트 페어 케이블을 통해 메인 허브 유닛(20)으로 전송한다.
메인 허브 유닛(20)은 기지국(10)으로부터 전송된 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환하고, IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환한다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)으로부터 디지털 신호를 전송받는다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 자체적으로 변환한 디지털 신호와 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)에서 전송된 디지털 신호로 구성된 프레임을 생성한다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 프레임으로 구성된 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환한다. 메인 허브 유닛(20)은 변환된 광신호를 분배 허브 유닛(30)에 전송한다.
분배 허브 유닛(30)은 메인 허브 유닛(20)으로부터 전송된 광신호를 전송받는다. 분배 허브 유닛(30)은 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환한다. 분배 허브 유닛(30)은 트위스트 페어 신호를 섹터 별로 나누어 원격 분배 유닛(40)에 전송한다. 도 3을 참조하면, 기존에 설치된 원격 분배 유닛(40)에는 α섹터에 해당하는 신호를 전송하고, 추가된 원격 분배 유닛(43,46)에는 β섹터에 해당하는 신호를 전송한다. 즉, 기지국(10,13)으로부터 전송되는 서비스 신호를 원격 분배 유닛(40,43,46) 별로 섹터 구분하여 서비스 용량을 증대시킬 수 있다. 여기서, 트위스트 페어 신호는 트위스트 페어 케이블을 통해 이동할 수 있는 적정 주파수 대역의 신호를 의미한다.
원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 분배 허브 유닛(30)과 트위스트 페어 케이블로 연결된다. 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 분배 허브 유닛(30)으로부터 트위스트 페어 신호를 전송받는다.
원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 분배 허브 유닛(30)에서 전송되는 트위스트 페어 신호를 IF신호로 변환한다. 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 IF신호를 RF신호로 변환한다. 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 각각 안테나(50,52,54)와 연결되어 RF신호를 중계한다.
도 4는 본 발명의 일측면에 의한 중계기 확장 시스템의 동작을 설명하기 위한 기능블록도이다.
중계기 확장 시스템은 메인 허브 유닛(20)과, 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)과, 분배 허브 유닛(30)과, 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)를 포함할 수 있다.
메인 허브 유닛(20)은 주파수 변환부(20a), 아날로그/디지털 컨버터(20b)와, 디지털 신호 처리부(20c)와, 프레이머(20d)와, 광 트랜시버(20e)를 포함할 수 있다. 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)은 주파수 변환부(26a)와, 아날로그/디지털 컨버터(26b)와, 디지털 신호 처리부(26c)를 포함할 수 있다.
메인 허브 유닛(20)의 주파수 변환부(20a)는 기지국(10)으로부터 전송된 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환한다.
아날로그/디지털 컨버터(20b)는 주파수 변환부(20a)에서 전송되는 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환한다.
디지털 신호 처리부(20c)는 아날로그/디지털 컨버터(20b)에서 전송되는 디지털 신호를 고속으로 처리할 수 있도록 신호 처리한다. 디지털 신호 처리부(20c)는 입력되는 신호에 대해 필터링, 증폭, 잡음제거 등의 신호 처리를 수행한다.
프레이머(20d)는 입력되는 디지털 신호를 프레임으로 구성한다. 프레이머(20d)는 메인 허브 유닛(20) 자체에서 생성되는 디지털 신호와 추가 메인 허브 유닛(26)으로부터 전송되는 디지털 신호를 조합하여 프레임을 구성한다. 프레이머(20d)는 프레임으로 구성된 디지털 신호를 광 트랜시버(20e)로 전송한다.
광 트랜시버(20e)는 프레이머(20d)로부터 전송된 디지털 신호를 광 신호로 변환한다. 광 트랜시버(20e)는 변환된 광 신호를 분배 허브 유닛(30)으로 전송한다.
분배 허브 유닛(30)은 섹터 분리부(30a)와, 데이터 변환부(30b)와, 데이터 전송부(30c)를 포함할 수 있다.
섹터 분리부(30a)는 기존에 사용되는 섹터(예를 들면, α섹터)신호와 추가된 섹터(예를 들면, β섹터)신호를 구분하여 분리한다.
데이터 변환부(30b)는 메인 허브 유닛(20)으로부터 전송되는 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환한다. 섹터 분리부(30a)에서 섹터 구분된 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하거나, 섹터 분리부(30a)에서 섹터 구분되기 전 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호르 변환할 수 있다.
데이터 전송부(30c)는 섹터 분리부(30a)에서 섹터 구분되고, 데이터 변환부(30b)에서 변환되어 생성된 트위스트 페어 신호를 섹터 구분하여 전송한다.
데이터 전송부(30c)는 원격 분배 유닛(40, 42, 44)의 추가 설치 여부와 관계없이, 기존에 사용되는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 연결된 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)에 선택적으로 전송할 수 있다.
원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)은 디지털 트랜시버(40a,42a,44a)와, RF컨버터(40b,42b,44b)를 포함할 수 있다.
디지털 트랜시버(40a,42a,44a)는 입력되는 트위스트 페어 신호를 IF신호로 변환한다. 디지털 트랜시버(40a,42a,44a)는 변환된 IF신호를 RF컨버터(40b,42b,44b)로 전송한다.
RF컨버터(40b,42b,44b)는 디지털 트랜시버(40a,42a,44a)로부터 전송되는 IF신호를 RF신호로 변환한다. RF컨버터(40b,42b,44b)는 변환된 RF신호를 안테나(50,52,54)를 통해 중계한다. 다만, 추가적으로 RF신호를 방사하는 출력부가 원격 분배 유닛(40,42,44)에 구비될 수도 있다.
한편, 상술한 실시예에 의하면 메인 허브 유닛, 분배 허브 유닛 및 원격 분배 유닛을 광 케이블, 동축 케이블 또는 트위스트 페어 케이블 중 적어도 하나를 선택하여 연결한 것으로 설명하였으나, 상술한 실시예에 한정되는 것은 아니며 연결을 위한 케이블이 도면에 도시한 실시예와 다른 종류로 변경될 수 있음은 물론이다.
그리고, 상술한 실시예에서는 기지국에서 이동 통신 단말기 방향으로 이동하는 신호를 그 예로 설명하였으며, 이동 통신 단말기에서 기지국으로 전송되는 신호의 동작은 그 반대의 동작(예를 들면, 기지국에서 단말기 방향으로 신호가 이동할 때, 아날로그 신호를 디지털 신호로 변환하는 동작은 단말기에서 기지국으로 신호가 이동할 때 디지털 신호에서 아날로그 신호로 변환됨)으로 해석하면 되므로, 상술한 설명으로 중계기 확장 시스템을 당업자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있다.
그리고, 상술한 실시예에서는 메인 허브 유닛을 하나 추가한 것으로 설명하였지만 메인 허브 유닛이 복수 개 추가되는 것도 본 발명의 실시예에 포함되는 것을 물론이다.

  1. 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 디지털 신호로 변환하고, 상기 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환하는 메인 허브 유닛;
    상기 메인 허브 유닛과 트위스트 페어 케이블 또는 광케이블로 연결되고 상기 기지국과 다른 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 디지털 신호로 변환하며, 상기 다른 기지국으로부터 RF신호를 전송받아 변환된 디지털 신호를 상기 메인 허브 유닛으로 전송하는 적어도 하나의 추가 메인 허브 유닛;
    상기 메인 허브 유닛으로부터 광신호를 전송받아 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호로 구분하고, 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하는 분배 허브 유닛; 및
    상기 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호를 변환한 트위스트 페어 신호 또는 추가된 섹터 신호를 변환한 트위스트 페어 신호 중 적어도 하나의 신호를 전송받아 RF신호로 변환하여 안테나를 통해 중계하는 적어도 하나의 원격 분배 유닛을 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 메인 허브 유닛과 상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 트위스트 페어 케이블 또는 광 케이블로 연결될 수 있도록 트위스트 페어 포트 또는 광 포트를 구비하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 메인 허브 유닛은 자체적으로 변환한 상기 RF신호와 상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛으로부터 전송된 RF신호를 조합하여 프레임을 생성하는 프레이머를 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  4. 제 3 항에 있어서,
    상기 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 프레이머를 통해 프레임으로 변환된 상기 디지털 신호를 광신호로 변환하는 광 트랜시버를 더 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  5. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환하는 주파수 변환부와, 상기 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환하는 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 더 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  6. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 기지국으로부터 전송되는 상기 RF신호를 IF신호로 변환하는 주파수 변환부와, 상기 IF신호를 디지털 신호로 변환하는 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 더 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  7. 제 6 항에 있어서,
    상기 추가 메인 허브 유닛은 상기 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 통해 변환된 디지털 신호를 고속으로 처리할 수 있도록 신호 처리하는 디지털 신호 처리부를 포함하고,
    상기 디지털 신호 처리부를 통해 신호 처리된 디지털 신호를 상기 메인 허브 유닛으로 전송하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  8. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 분배 허브 유닛은 기존에 존재하는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 구분하는 섹터분리부를 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  9. 제 8 항에 있어서,
    상기 분배 허브 유닛은 상기 섹터분리부에서 섹터 구분되어 전송되는 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하거나, 상기 섹터 분리부에서 섹터 구분되기 전 광신호를 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환하는 데이터 변환부를 더 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 분배 허브 유닛은 상기 섹터 구분되어 트위스트 페어 신호로 변환된 신호를 섹터 구분하여 원격 분배 유닛에 전송하는 데이터 전송부를 더 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  11. 제 10 항에 있어서,
    상기 원격 분배 유닛은 기존에 설치된 원격 분배 유닛과 추가로 설치된 원격 분배 유닛을 포함하고,
    상기 데이터 전송부는 기존에 사용되는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 기존에 설치된 원격 분배 유닛과 추가적으로 설치된 원격 분배 유닛에 선택적으로 전송하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  12. 제 10 항에 있어서,
    상기 원격 분배 유닛은 복수 개이며,
    상기 데이터 전송부는 기존에 사용되는 섹터 신호와 추가된 섹터 신호를 기존에 설치된 복수 개의 원격 분배 유닛에 선택적으로 전송하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
  13. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 원격 분배 유닛은 상기 트위스트 페어 신호를 IF신호로 변환하는 디지털 트랜시버와, 상기 IF신호를 RF신호로 변환하는 RF컨버터를 포함하는 중계기 확장 시스템.
