Claims (20)

  1. 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템(interactive television/broadcast system)에 있어서,
    디스플레이 스크린(18); 및
    적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우(20A) 및 그리드 가이드(14)를 갖는 전자 프로그램 가이드(EPG)(12)로서, 상기 그리드 가이드(14)는 상기 디스플레이 스크린 상에 디스플레이된 복수의 프로그램 타이틀 셀들을 포함하는, 상기 전자 프로그램 가이드(EPG)(12)를 포함하고,
    상기 EPG(12)는 (1) 프로그램 타이틀 셀을 강조(highlight)하기 위하여 상기 그리드 가이드를 통해 브라우징 및 네비게이팅한 후, 및 (2) 미리 결정된 지연동안 상기 강조된 프로그램 타이틀 셀을 유지한 후, 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 자동적으로 시작함으로써 주문(on demand)에 따라 상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우에 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 디스플레이하고,
    상기 시스템은 이미 방송되고 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰에 대응하고 상기 강조된 프로그램 타이틀 셀에 대응하는 프로그램이 페어렌탈(parental) 제어에 기초한 유저 프로파일에 따라 제한되는지 요청될 때, 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 시작을 금지하도록 적응되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우는 현재 튜닝된 프로그램을 디스플레이하는 제 1 디스플레이 윈도우(20A), 및 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 오디오 트랙이 들리는 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 디스플레이하는 제 2 디스플레이 윈도우(20B)를 포함하는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.
  3. 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 제 2 디스플레이 윈도우는, 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 디스플레이에 앞서 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰가 상기 강조된 프로그램 타이틀 셀에 대해 이용 가능하면, 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 정지 화면을 즉시 디스플레이하는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.
  4. 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우는 임박한 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 나타내는 로딩 메시지 또는 아이콘을 디스플레이하는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.
  5. 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우를 네비게이팅하고, 상기 디스플레이 스크린(18)상에 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 디스플레이하기 위하여 상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우를 선택하는 수단을 갖는 원격 제어 디바이스(30)를 더 포함하는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.
  6. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 그리드 가이드를 통해 네비게이팅 및 브라우징하는 네비게이션 버튼들(32); 및
    상기 디스플레이 스크린(18)상의 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 디스플레이하기 위하여 선택하는 프리뷰 버튼을 구비하는 원격 제어 디바이스(30)를 더 포함하는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.
  7. 제 6 항에 있어서,
    상기 원격 제어 디바이스(30)는 프로그램을 레코딩하기 위한 레코드 버튼을 더 포함하고, 상기 프로그램은 상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우상에 디스플레이되도록 적응된 비디오 클립 프리뷰와 관련이 있는, 대화형 텔레비전/방송 시스템.

    적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우 및 복수의 프로그램 타이틀 셀들을 포함하는 그리드 가이드(14)를 가지는 전자 프로그램 가이드(EPG)(12)를 디스플레이 스크린(18) 상에 디스플레이하는 단계;
    상기 그리드 가이드(14)를 통해 브라우징하는 단계;
    상기 브라우징 단계 동안, 프로그램 타이틀 셀을 강조하는 단계; 및
    상기 강조 단계 동안, 상기 강조된 프로그램 타이틀 셀이 미리 결정된 지연 동안 강조된 후, 상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우에서 주문에 따라 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 자동적으로 디스플레이하는 단계를 포함하고,
    이미 방송되고 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰에 대응하고 상기 강조된 프로그램 타이틀 셀에 대응하는 프로그램이 페어렌탈 제어에 기초한 유저 프로파일에 따라 제한되면, 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 디스플레이는 금지되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 주문형 비디오 클립 프리뷰들을 디스플레이하는 방법.
  11. 제 10 항에 있어서,
    상기 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 윈도우는 제 1 디스플레이 윈도우(20A) 및 제 2 디스플레이 윈도우(20B)를 포함하고,
    현재 튜닝된 프로그램을 상기 제 1 디스플레이 윈도우(20A)에 디스플레이하는 단계;
    상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰를 상기 제 2 디스플레이 윈도우(20B)에 디스플레이하는 단계; 및
    상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 디스플레이 단계와 동시에 상기 비디오 클립 프리뷰의 오디오 트랙을 플레이하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 주문형 비디오 클립 프리뷰들을 디스플레이하는 방법.
