Description
Claims (15)
- 이미지에 대응하는 신호들을 처리함으로써 상기 이미지에 나타나는 객체를 표현하는 방법으로서,상기 객체에 대응하는 복수의 다른 2 차원 뷰의 표현을 도출하는 단계, 및객체 기술자(object descriptor)를 형성하기 위해서 2개 이상의 뷰 기술자(view descriptor)를 연관시키는 단계를 포함하고,상기 이미지는 이미지 시퀀스의 일부이고, 하나 이상의 추가 뷰 기술자가 상기 이미지 시퀀스 내의 다른 부분에서 나타나는 상기 객체의 뷰에 해당하는 방법.

- 제1항에 있어서,상기 이미지는 비디오로부터의 이미지인 방법.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,상기 객체의 형태나 크기 중 적어도 하나와 관련되고, 상기 이미지 내의 상기 객체의 뷰와는 독립적인, 기술자(descriptor)를 도출하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 탐색의 목적을 위한 일부로서 이미지 또는 이미지 시퀀스를 인덱스하기 위해서 해당 이미지에 나타나는 객체를 표현하는 방법으로서, 상기 방법은아웃라인에 대응하는 신호들을 처리함으로써, 다른 뷰에서의 상기 객체의 복수의 2 차원 아웃라인에 해당하는 복수의 뷰 기술자를 도출하는 단계, 및상기 이미지 또는 이미지 시퀀스를 인덱스하기 위한 객체 기술자를 형성하기 위해서 상기 뷰 기술자들을 연관시키는 단계를 포함하고,상기 이미지는 이미지 시퀀스의 일부이고, 하나 이상의 추가 뷰 기술자가 상기 이미지 시퀀스 내의 다른 부분에서 나타나는 상기 객체의 뷰에 해당하는 방법.

- 제5항에 있어서,상기 기술자는 상기 객체의 볼륨을 나타내는 방법.
- 이미지에 대응하는 신호들을 처리함으로써 상기 이미지 내의 객체를 탐색하는 방법으로서, 상기 방법은상기 객체의 적어도 하나의 2차원 뷰 형태로 질의(query)를 입력하는 단계,상기 객체의 상기 적어도 하나의 2차원 뷰의 질의 기술자(query descriptor)를 도출하는 단계,상기 질의 기술자와, 제1항의 방법에 따라서 도출된 이미지 내의 객체에 관해서 저장된 객체 기술자를 비교하는 단계, 및상기 질의 기술자와 상기 객체 기술자 간의 상기 비교가 상기 질의와 상기 객체 간의 유사도(a degree of similarity)를 나타내는 객체를 포함하는 이미지에 해당하는 적어도 하나의 결과를 선택 및 디스플레이하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서,질의는 객체의 2개 이상의 2차원 아웃라인들의 형태로 입력되고, 질의 뷰 기술자는 각각의 상기 뷰에 대해 도출되며, 상기 비교 단계는 저장된 각각의 객체 기술자에서의 각 뷰 기술자와 각각의 상기 질의 뷰 기술자를 비교하여 다수의 뷰-유사성 값들을 도출하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 뷰-유사성 값들이 분석되어 객체 유사성 값들을 도출하는 방법.
- 제9항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 객체 기술자들의 적어도 일부는 상기 객체의 형태나 크기 중 적어도 하나와 관련되고 상기 이미지 내의 상기 객체의 뷰와는 독립적인 뷰-독립형 기술자들을 포함하고, 상기 방법은뷰-독립형 질의 값을 입력하는 단계, 및상기 저장된 객체 기술자들에 대한 상기 뷰-독립형 기술자와 상기 질의 값을 비교하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항, 제4항, 제6항 및 제9항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항의 방법을 구현하기 위한 장치.
- 제1항, 제4항, 제6항 및 제9항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항의 방법에 따라서 동작하도록 프로그램된 컴퓨터 시스템.
