Claims (11)
- 음장(soundfield)을 나타(represent)내는 M 오디오 입력 채널들을 동일한 음장을 나타내는 N 오디오 출력 채널들로 변환하는 방법으로서, 각 채널은 일 방향으로부터 도달하는 오디오를 나타내는 단일 오디오 스트림이며, M 및 N은 양의 정수이고, M은 2 이상의 양의 정수인, 변환 방법에 있어서,복수의 디코딩 모듈 기능(modular function)을 포함하며, 상기 복수의 모듈 기능은 상기 M 입력 채널들 중 하나를 공유하며, 각 모듈 기능은:상기 N 채널들의 서브세트를 각각 구성하는 1 이상의 출력 채널을 발생시키는 매트릭스를 포함하며 상기 디코딩 모듈 기능과 관련된 가장 가까운 공간적으로 인접한 카디널 채널(cardinal channel)들 중 2 이상에 응답하여 그 매트릭스를 제어하거나, 또는상기 디코딩 모듈 기능과 관련된 가장 가까운 공간적으로 인접한 카디널 채널들 중 2 이상에 응답하여 제어 신호를 발생시키는데, 상기 제어 신호가 다른 디코딩 모듈 기능들에 의해 발생된 제어 신호들과 함께 가변 매트릭스의 계수를 변동시키도록 사용되어 모든 출력 채널들을 발생시키거나, 또는상기 디코딩 모듈 기능과 관련된 가장 가까운 공간적으로 인접한 카디널 채널들 중 2 이상에 응답하여 제어 신호들을 발생시키는데, 상기 제어 신호가 다른 디코딩 모듈 기능들에 의해 발생된 제어 신호들과 함께 고정형 매트릭스로의 입력들 또는 고정형 매트릭스로부터의 출력들의 스케일 팩터들을 변동시키는데 사용되어 모든 출력 채널들을 발생시키는, 변환 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 모듈 기능들은 입력 채널들의 개수에 따라 계층적으로 순서화되며, 그 계층 순서에 따라 입력 신호들의 공유를 제어하도록 모듈 기능들과 소통하는 감독 루틴 기능(supervisory routine function)을 더 포함하는, 변환 방법.
