Abstract

A seat track position system and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the unnecessary lighting of an airbag warning lamp by enabling a seat track position sensor to grasp the exact location of the seat. A control method of a seat track position system comprises: a step for sensing surrounding magnetic field with a magnetic sensor within a seat track position sensor(101); a step for sending and receiving signals between the seat track position sensor and a sensor adhering to a shunt(103); and a step for sensing the location of the exact shunt with the signal sent and received. The sensor(105) adhering to the shunt and the seat track position sensor comprises an optical sensor, an infrared sensor, and a ultrasonic sensor.
