Claims (4)
- 그래픽 메모리를 증가시키지 않으면서 TN(Twisted Nematic) 및 STN(Super Twisted Nematic) 패시브 액정표시장치의 반응시간을 개선하는 구동 방법에 있어서,현재 데이터가 이전 화상의 데이터와 다르면 동화상 판단 메커니즘을 통하여 오버드라이브 동작 원리에 따라 3원색의 데이터를 처리하여 3원색의 오버드라이브 데이터를 출력하며, 현재 화상의 상기 3원색의 데이터를 YCbCr 데이터로 변환하고 상기 3원색의 오버드라이브 데이터를 오버드라이브 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터로 변환하는 단계와;상기 현재 화상의 상기 YCbCr 데이터와 상기 오버드라이브 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터를 비디오 압축 표준에 따라 압축, 샘플링, 및 결합하고,상기 현재 화상의 상기 YCbCr 데이터의 감소된 CbCr 저장 비트와 상기 오버드라이브 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터의 감소된 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터의 비트 할당을 수행하며,상기 YCbCr 데이터의 CbCr 저장 비트를 감소시킴으로 인하여 감소되는 YCbCr 데이터와상기 오버드라이브 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터의 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터의 저장비트를 감소시킴로 인하여 감소된 오버드라이브 Y'Cb'Cr' 데이터를 GRAM(Graphic Random Access Memory)에 저장하고,출력 주파수 배가 회로를 통하여 각 데이터 버스의 갱신 기간 내에서 상기 오버드라이브 데이터에 따라 원래의 출력 전위보다 높거나 낮은 오버드라이브 보상 전위를 N번 제공하는 단계;를 포함하는 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 3원색의 상기 오버드라이브 데이터는 룩업테이블 회로를 통하여 서로 다른 화상에 대응하는 서로 다른 오버드라이브 보상 전위를 송출하며, 상기 오버 드라이브 보상 전위는 0보다 크고 최대 액정 구동 전압보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 압축 및 샘플링은 Y:Cb:Cr = 4:2:2, Y:Cb:Cr = 4:2:0, 및 Y:Cb:Cr = 4:1:1의 샘플링 방식 중 하나를 이용하여 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 N은 2 이상이고 8보다 작은 정수인 것을 특징으로 하는 구동 방법.
