- 연신축 방향에 수직인 방향의 표면 거칠기가 중심선 평균 거칠기에 기초하여 0.01㎛ 이하인 편광판으로서, 보호층과 접합할 때의 수분율이 15% ~ 30%인 편광자의 편면 또는 양면에 보호층을 접합함으로써 형성된 투과율 35% 이상, 편광도 90% 이상의 편광판이고, 상기 접합이, 비닐알콜계 폴리머로 이루어지는 접착제, 혹은, 비닐알콜계 폴리머의 수용성 가교제로 적어도 이루어지는 접착제를 이용하여 행해지는 편광판을, 액정 셀의 적어도 편측에 구비한 액정 표시 장치.(단, 편광자의 수분율의 측정 방법은, 접합 전의 편광자 중량(A)과, 그 편광자를, 120℃의 건조기에 7시간 넣은 후의 편광자 중량(B)으로부터, 편광자의 수분율(%)=[(A-B)/B]×100으로 구한다.)
