Abstract

본 발명의 목적은 ECB 칼라 LCD에 있어서 그 적색의 순도를 향상시키는 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 ECB 칼라 LCD는 그 액정층이 이방성 색소가 첨가되어 형성되어, 적색 선택전압이 인가되면 그 색소에 의하여 적색의 색순도가 향상되는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따라 액정 재료에 이방성 색소를 첨가하여 액정층을 형성한 경우, 액정분자가 전계 인가에 의하여 그 배열이 바뀌면서 색소분자의 배향을 바꾸어 적색 대역인 580에서 650대의 파장을 흡수 하게 한다. 이에 따라서 LCD의 적색순도가 향상된다.An object of the present invention is to improve the purity of the red color in an ECB color LCD.
