- 기지국을 갖는 CDMA 무선통신시스템에서 가입자 유닛의 위치측정을 수행하는 방법으로서,통신중 위치측정요청을 수신하는 단계;상기 위치측정요청에 응답하여, 위치측정정보를 수신하기 위하여 상기 가입자 유닛의 수신기를 현재의 주파수로부터 다른 위치측정 주파수로 튜닝시키는 단계;상기 위치측정 주파수를 통해 정보를 수신하고, 그 수신 정보를 사용하여 위치측정절차를 수행함과 동시에 상기 기지국으로 정보를 전송하는 단계; 및상기 위치측정절차가 완료될 때, 상기 기지국으로 송신하는 것은 물론 상기 기지국으로부터 또 다시 수신하도록 상기 수신기를 재튜닝시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 위치측정절차중 상기 가입자 유닛으로부터 수신되는 정보는 전력제어정보를 포함하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 위치측정절차중 상기 가입자 유닛으로부터 수신되는 정보는 상기 가입자 유닛이 위치측정모드에 있음을 상기 기지국에게 통지하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 위치측정절차중 상기 가입자 유닛으로부터 수신되는 정보는 상기 위치측정절차의 상태를 기지국에게 통지하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 위치측정절차중 상기 가입자 유닛으로부터 수신되는 정보는 상기 위치측정절차를 수행하기 위한 추가적인 원조 (aiding) 정보의 요청을 포함하며, 상기 위치측정절차는 상기 추가적인 원조 정보를 사용하여 완료되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 위치측정절차중 상기 가입자 유닛으로부터 수신되는 정보는 타이밍 정보를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
