Abstract

A method for serving karaoke contents in a portable terminal is provided to selectively receive music files, a background image accommodating to time sync of the music files, and a lyric text file so as for the lyrics to be displayed being synchronized with the selectively inputted music files and background image in a karaoke content production mode, thereby enabling a user to variously produce individualized karaoke contents and exchange the produced karaoke contents with the other party by a multimedia message service. A method for serving karaoke contents in a portable terminal comprises the following steps of: selectively receiving music files used as the karaoke contents in a karaoke content production mode using SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)(101,103); reproducing the selectively inputted music files and receiving a background image accommodating to time sync at a point of time when image insertion is needed(105~109); receiving a lyric text file so as for the lyrics to be displayed being synchronized with the selectively inputted music files and background image(111); and storing the karaoke contents as an SMIL file by using the inputted music files, background image and lyric text file information.
