Abstract

PURPOSE: A livestock feed composition containing cyclohepta amylose as oligosaccharide produced by enzyme treatment of starch, is provided. It can produce meat which is remarkably reduced in cholesterol content when fed to livestock. CONSTITUTION: The livestock feed composition contains 1 to 12% by weight of cyclohepta amylose or a derivative thereof. It produces functional meat when fed to livestock for more than 10 days. It also prevents the occurrence of cardiovascular disease such as arteriosclerosis, myocardial infarction, angina or the like as compared to conventional meat. 상기 표 5는 본 발명에서 조사된 돈육내 부위별 콜레스테롤 함량을 나타낸것이다. 상기 표 5에서 보는 바와 같이 CHA의 첨가수준이 높아질수록 돈육내 콜레스테롤 함량이 유의적으로 낮아짐을 볼 수 있다(p<0.05). 특히 CHA 5% 첨가구에서 등지방과 등심부위의 콜레스테롤 함량은 각각 26%와 28% 낮아졌음을 볼 수 있는 바, 이것은 본 발명에서 얻어진 획기적인 결과이다. 삼겹살과 햄부위에서도 각각 18%의 콜레스테롤 함량이 낮아진 것도 특기할만한 사실이다. 지금까지 국내외적으로 돈육내 콜레스테롤 함량을 10% 이상 떨어뜨린 효과를 나타낸 보고는 없다.Table 5 shows the cholesterol content of each part of the pork investigated in the present invention.
