Abstract

PURPOSE: An SMD inductor and a fabricating method thereof are provided to remove a bonding process and simplify a fabrication process by combining a combination projection of a base with a combination groove of an external core. CONSTITUTION: An SMD inductor includes an external core(120), an internal core(140), and a base(160). The internal core is inserted into one side of the external core. A wire is wound around the internal core. The base is adhered on one end portion of the internal core. The base and a lead frame connected to a wire are formed with one body. The other end portion of the internal core is covered by the other side of the external. An insertion groove is formed at an edge of the inside of the external core. The lead frame is inserted into the insertion groove. A combination groove is formed at a center portion of the inside of the external core. A combination projection which formed at an edge of the base is combined with the combination groove of the external core.
