Abstract

PURPOSE: A method and system for selling a character on the Internet is provided to buy and sell a digitalized character by on-line market and to use the digitalized character in many applications. CONSTITUTION: A payment gateway system(104) includes a unit for receiving money from a user, a unit for subtracting a price from the received money, and a unit for transmitting the subtracted price to a corresponding supply company, and manages a price charging process with respect to a character and an application. A database server(111) includes a character DB(102), a member information DB(101), and an application DB(103) having contents using a character and an application program. An application server(110) includes a unit for receiving contents and an application and a unit for supplying contents and an application for a user, and supplies various programs and services using the character. An Internet server(100) supplies a service comprising the database server(111) and the application server(110) on the Internet(120).
