Abstract

PURPOSE: A check valve of a scroll compressor is provided to reduce discharge passage loss and overcompression loss by enlarging a refrigerant discharge area of a cross-shaped refrigerant discharge passage on a top plate. CONSTITUTION: A check valve(17) is mounted at a valve mounting portion on a fixed scroll. The check valve has a rectangular form having the same diameter as a diameter(D) of the valve mounting portion. The check valve has each edge portion rounded at a specific curvature. If the check valve is raised up by compressed refrigerant to close a cross-shaped refrigerant discharge passage of a top plate(6), the cross-shaped refrigerant discharge passage has a slightly larger discharge area than one closed by a former check valve. Therefore, the refrigerant discharge area is enlarged and discharge passage loss is reduced.
