Abstract
PURPOSE: A ladle slag conditioner having improved slag deoxidation effect is provided to manufacture ultra low carbon steel of carbon content below 0.010% without emitting hazardous gases into out atmosphere. The present slag conditioner can drastically reduce slag foaming so that dust scattering and facility damage by hot metal are prevented. CONSTITUTION: The ladle slag conditioner is characterized by comprising 40-79.9wt.% or Mg, 20-59.0wt.% of dolomite sludge generated from steelmaking plant, and 0.1-3wt.% of soda-silica. Further, the particle size distribution of the materials range from 20 to 40mm.
