Description

패키징 필름용 중합체 블렌드
본 발명은 패티징 필름, 특히 개선된 고온 점착력을 갖는 박리성 빌봉을 형성할 수 있는 열 밀봉성 랩핑 또는 패키징 필름을 제조하는데 사용하는 중합체 블렌드에 관한 것이다. 블렌드는 에틸렌 단독중합체 또는 에틸렌과 불포화 에스테르의 공중합체, 에틸렌과 불포화 카르복실산의 공중합체 및 부텐-1 단독 중합체 또는 공중합체로 구성된다. 밀봉은 이러한 종류의 두 필름들 사이에서 또는 이러한 종류의 하나의 필름과 경질 용기 사이에서 접착제없이 실현될 수 있다.
박리성 밀봉은 열밀봉 또는 충격 밀봉에 의해 생성된 두 필름들 사이의 밀봉 또는 접합(joint)으로 정의되며, 이렇게 형성된 접합은 접합을 수행하기 위해 사용된 두 필름 물질에 파열을 일으키지 않은 채, 인장력의 작용에 의해서 두 필름을 접합하는 원래의 면을 개봉할 수 있는 성질을 가진다. 본발명의 목적을 위해, 박리성 밀봉은 패키징 또는 랩핑이 개봉될 때까지 보관 및 운반 동안에 패키징 및 랩핑의 완전성과 밀봉 성질을 유지하기에 충분한 역학 저항을 가져야 한다. 그러나, 이러한 박리성 밀봉의 역항 저항은 접합을 손으로, 즉 보조기구의 사용 없이 용이하게 개봉할 수 있을 정도로 낮아야 한다.
여러 가지 많은 열가소성 물질이 필름의 제조에 사용되어 왔고, 이들중 몇몇은 박리성 밀봉물을 형성할 수 있다. 예컨대, 미합중국 특허 제 4,189,519호는(a) 에틸렌 80 내지 96중량%와 에틸렌형 불포화 에스테르 20 내지 4중량%의 공중합체 50 내지 90 중량%와 (b) 이소탁틱(insotactic) 폴리부틸렌 결정 50 내지 10중량%로 구성되는 박리성 열 밀봉물을 제조하기 위한 블렌드를 개시한다. 미합중국 특허 제 3,900.534 호는 양호한 열밀봉 성질과 양호한 광학적 성질을 갖는 열가소성 수축 필름을 개시하나, 박리 밀봉 필름에 대한 필요조건은 언급하지 않는다. 미합중국 특허 제 3,879,49 호는폴리부틸렌, 스티렌-부타디엔 공중합체, 저밀도 폴리에틸렌(LDPE), 고밀도 폴리에틸렌(HDPE)과 폴리이소부틸렌의 브렌드를 개시한다. 미합중국 특허 제 4,539,263호는 프로필렌/ a -올레핀 공중합체를 포함하는 블렌드를 기재로한 박리 밀봉물을 개시하나, 폴리부틸렌에 대해서는 언급하지 않는다. 유럽특허 출원 제213698 호는 에틸렌 중합체, 부텐-1 중합체 및 프로필렌 중합체의 블렌드를 개시한다.
미국 특허 제 4,550, 141 호, 미국 특허 제 4,539, 263 호와 미국 특허 제 4,414,053 호와 같은 여러 가지 다른 참고문헌은 박리 밀봉물을 형성할 수 있는 열 밀봉성 필름을 제시한다. 그러나 , 이들 참고문헌도 긴밀한(intimate) 패키징 필름 구조물을 형성하기에 적절한 브렌드의 성분을 제시하고 있지 않다. 수직형태/충진/밀봉 패키징 같은 일정한 용도에 사용하기 위한 고온 점착력을 갖는 밀봉제로서 사용될 수 있는 블렌드가 오랫동안 요구되어 왔다.
본 발명은, 통상의 다층 박리성 밀봉 필름 또는 시이트가 지지체와, 일반적으로 화학적으로 상용가능(compativility)하지 않은 박리성 밀봉제로 구성됨을 인식하고, 따라서, 본 발명은 신규의 블렌드와 이로부터 제조된 필름을 제공하여 화학적으로 상용가능한 지지체와 박리성 밀봉제를 생성하는 것이다. 본 발명은 밀봉된 층이 인장하여 분리될 때 표층발리(delamination layer)를 없게 한다.
본 발명에 따라서, (i) 에틸렌 단독중합체 또는 에틸렌과 불포화 에스테르의 공중합체 35내지 90 중량%, 바람직하게는 45내지 85중량%, 특히 55 내지 75 중량%, (ii)에틸렌과 불포화 카르복실산의 공중합체 10 내지 60 중량%, 바람직하게는 20 내지 50 중량%, 특히 25 내지 45 중량% , 및 (iii) 부텐-1 단독중합체 또는 공중합체 5 내지 55 중량% , 바람직하게는 10 내지 40 중량%, 특히 10 내지 20 중량%를 포함(이때, (i), (ii)와 (iii)의 중량%는 이들의 조합된 중량을 기준으로 함)하는 패키징 필름을 제조하는데 사용하기 위한 블렌드를 제공한다. 부텐-1 단독중합체 또는 공중합체은 바람직하게는 0.01 내지 1000의 용융 지수를 갖는다.
본 발명은 또한 본 발명의 블렌드를 포함하는, 발리 밀봉물을 형성할 수 있는 패키징 필름 또는 시이트를 제공한다. 더욱이 본 발명은 본 발명의 패키징 필름 또는 시이트가 결합된 지지물질을 포함하는 라미나 구조물을 제공한다. 더욱이 본 발명의 필름, 시이트 또는 라미네이트로 밀봉된 뚜껑을 갖는 경질 용기를 포함하는 박리성 밀봉의 경질 패키지를 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 필름 및/또는 라미네이트는 확장된 열밀봉 온도 범위에 걸쳐서 거의 일정한 박리 강도를 특징으로 한다.
본 발명에 따른 라미네이트된 필름 또는 시이트는, 필름 또는 시이트와 지지물질 또는 경질 용기 사이에서의 열 밀봉이 71℃ 내지 260℃ (160 내지 500℃ F)의 온도(밀봉 압반(sealing jaw)에서 측정)에서 일어날 때0.18 내지 2.3 ㎏/2.54 ㎝(0.4 내지 5 인치당 파운드)의 박리 강도를 제공할 수 있다.
본 발명 블렌드의 성분(i)은 예컨대 에틸텔과 비닐 아세테이트의 공중합체일 수 있다.
성(ii)로서 사용되는 에틸렌과 불포화 카르복실산 공중합체는 적절하게 에틸렌/아크릴산 공중합체(EAA), 에틸렌/메타크릴산 공중합체(EMAA), 에틸렌/에틸 아크릴산 공중합체(EEAA), D;틸렌/부틸 아크릴산 공중합체(EBAA) 및 에틸렌/프로필 아크릴산 공중합체(EPAA)로부터 선택되는 공중합체이다.
여기에서폴리부틸렌 용어는 성분(ii)을 나타내는데 사용되며 부텐-1단독중합체 및, 부텐-1-에틸렌 공중합체, 부텐-1-프로필렌 공중합체와 부텐과 탄소수 5 내지 8을 갖는 알파 올레핀의 공중합체 같은 부텐-1 공중합체를 말한다.
본 발명 블렌드의 기본 성분인 폴리부틸렌은 적절하게는 입체 특이 중합 방법의 생성물이고 중합사슬의 반복 단위가 모두 사슬을 따라 동일한 입체 화학 배열을 갖는다는 점에서 이소탁틱(isotactid) 또는 입체특이 중합체를 말한다. 이것은 중합사슬의 반복단위가 사슬을 따라 불규칙 배열로 변하는 어탁틱(atactic)' 중합체와 반대이다. 본 발명에서 사용하기 위한 이소탁틱 폴리부틸렌의 입체화학적 성질은 다음 고조 그림으로부터 쉽게 관찰할 수 있다.

표 1로부터 보는 바와 같이 , 필름을 77 내지 121℃ (170℉ 내지 250℉)의 밀봉온도에서 2.54 ㎝ (1인치)에 대한 뉴우튼으로 고온 점착력을 시험했을 때, 의외로 에틸렌-카르복실산 공중합체, 특히 EAA를 함유하는 블렌드는 고온 점착력 및 양호한 가공성(가공 장치에 부착되지 않음)을 가지며 이러한 결합을 실현하기 위해 접착제를 필요로 하지 않고 동시압출 또는 압출 라미네이션에 의해 라미나 구조물의 고점도 폴리에틸렌 지지체와 결합하는 독특한 필름을 제공하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. EAA없는 블렌드에서 100 이상의 고온 점착력 증가는 쉽게 얻을 수 있었다.

Claims (4)

  1. (i) 에틸렌 단독중합체 떠는 에틸렌 불포화 에스테르의 공중합체 35 내지 90 중량% ; (ii) 에틸렌과 불포화 카르복실산의 공중합체 10 내지 60 중량; 및 (iii)뷰텐-1 단독중합체 또는 공중합체 5 내지 55 중량%를 포함 (이때, i), ii), 및 iii)의 중량5는 이들의 조합된 중량을 기준으로 함)하는 패키징 필름을 제조하는데 사용하는 블렌드.
  2. 제1항에 청구된 블렌들를 포함하는 , 박리 밀봉물을 형성 할 수 있는 패키징 필름.
  3. 제2항에서 청구된 필름에 결합되는 지지 물질을 포함하는 라미나 구조물.
  4. 제2항에서 청구된 필름 또는 그 필름에 결합한지지 물질로 구성된 라미네이트로 밀봉된 뚜껑을 갖는 경질 용기를 포함하는 박리성 밀봉된 경질 패키지.
