The present invention relates to a protective device for preventing damage to the container, and more particularly to a protective device that can be installed on the lower side of the container to prevent damage due to the handling of the container.
Containers are freight storage containers designed to be used for long-distance transport or long-term storage of cargo. In land transportation of containers, they are loaded and transported in trailers or trucks, and in marine transportation, they are usually loaded and transported in container-only transport ships. Containers are particularly used for the transport of import and export goods, and thus include a multi-step process in transporting by land and sea and thus in handling the containers. That is, a process of loading or unloading a container onto a trailer, stacking a plurality of trailers on a pier immediately before loading on a transport ship, and loading a transport ship.
A forklift or a crane is generally used in the loading and unloading process of such a container. If the correct work is not performed due to a mistake in operation, the container may be damaged. Damage to the container occurs mainly at the bottom or bottom edge of the container, because when the container is loaded, the portion that forms the bottom of the container contacts the top plate of the trailer or the top of another container.
The reason for this is described in detail with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7, which are conventional drawings.
Since the fixing device 110 protrudes above the container mounting portion at a predetermined position of the container vehicle 100, that is, the four corners, the corner casting 135 of the container when the heavy container is lifted by the forklift and mounted on the container vehicle 100. It is often the case that the fixing grooves 135a formed in the grooves are not correctly inserted into the fixtures 112 of the fixing device 110. At this time, the fastener 112 of the fixing device 110 installed in the vehicle is in contact with the rail 22 of the lower container, a case in which the rail 22 is broken. On the other hand, since the rail 22 is directly welded to the corner cast 135, the strength of the welded portion of the corner cast 135 and the rail 22 is lowered due to the breakage of the rail 22, causing a problem.
Thus, if the bottom surface of the container is damaged in this way, it cannot be loaded in the correct position on the top plate of the trailer or on the top surface of another container. This means that large and heavy containers cannot be transported or loaded reliably and can have very serious consequences. Furthermore, if the damage is severe, the goods inside the container will be affected. Because of these problems, various methods have been proposed in the art to prevent damage to containers, and these generally relate to improving the structure of container bottoms where damage is concentrated, thereby improving the protection against external impacts.
One of the container damage precautions that has been proposed in the related art relates to the application of rails for corner casting and reinforcement. This is a method of arranging the corner casting 135 in four corner portions forming the bottom of the container, and welding the reinforcing rail 22 surrounding the corner of the bottom to the corner casting 135. This prevents direct shock from being delivered to the container even when an external shock is applied to the rail. However, this method is a method in which a relatively long reinforcing rail is directly welded to the corner casting, which may cause a problem depending on the welding strength. In particular, when containers are stacked on top of other containers, damage to the rails and welds often occurs when the upper corner castings of the underlying containers come into contact with the rails of the upper containers.
An object of the present invention is to provide a novel protective device that can prevent damage to the container.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a guard at the bottom edge of the container so as to improve the strength of each corner post of the container.
