Claims (16)

装置。 A medical device for removing lens tissue from within the lens capsule of an eye, comprising:
A housing of a size that can be held by hand,
a shaft extending distally from the housing and configured to oscillate relative to the housing, the shaft including a distal end region adapted to access a lens within the lens capsule of the eye; a shaft having a lumen;
a cam assembly operably coupled to a vacuum source disposed within the housing, a shaft operably coupled to the vacuum source to cause the vacuum source to generate a vacuum through the lumen; and a second portion operably coupled to said first portion and said shaft and rotatable about said axis with said first portion to oscillate said shaft. a cam assembly including,
a trigger on the housing configured to actuate rotation of the cam assembly;
with
the trigger is operably coupled to the latch and the piston stop;
A first stage of actuation of the trigger causes the vacuum source to create a vacuum within the lumen of the shaft, and a second stage of actuation of the trigger causes the shaft to vibrate as the second portion rotates. ,
