Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a sanitary container for cooking by a microwave oven excellent in thermal moldability, heat resistance and heat insulating property, by molding said container from a crosslinkable foamed sheet based on a specific polypropylene and having specific foam magnification, a specific thickness, specific surface hardness and a gel ratio. CONSTITUTION:The base resin of the polypropylene crosslinked foamed sheet molded into a food container, that is, the polypropylene resin has Picat softening temp. of 130 deg.C or more. Further, the foaming magnification of the crosslinked foamed sheet is set to 4-15times, pref., 5-10times, the thickness thereof is set to 0.5-5 mm, the surface hardness thereof is set to 70 or more and the gel ratio thereof is set to 20-60%. The foaming magnification, the thickness and the surface hardness can be set by changing a foaming molding condition and the gel ratio can be adjusted and set by irradiation intensity in the case of a radiation crosslinking method and by the addition amount of peroxide in the case of a chemical crosslinking method. The container molded from this sheet has the excellent thermal moldability and markedly high heat resistance and heat insulating property and high oil resistance, water resistance and rigidity, and is sanitary and can be subjected to microwave cooking.
