However, in each process, etc., it is frequently necessary to change the fiber direction of the veneer to an appropriate angle (mainly right angle). In order to perform the conversion, it is necessary to use a large space and adopt an irrational processing method that mainly involves manual replacement.
This is a factor that hinders rationalization in the plywood industry.

The present invention was developed to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional processing methods described above, and the present invention was developed by tilting the fiber direction of the veneer vertically, vertically, or diagonally while transporting the veneer almost horizontally. By adopting an extremely simple and rational configuration of bending the veneer in a direction that intersects with the conveying direction of the veneer while it is being transported vertically, and then overturning the veneer again to a nearly horizontal state,
The purpose is to reduce the transfer space and further facilitate angle conversion, thereby enabling a rational processing form that saves labor in a narrow space.

For example, as illustrated in FIG.
When the target is a veneer S that is cut from and transported horizontally, the fiber direction of the veneer S is perpendicular to the cutting and discharging direction, so it is cut into a rectangular shape as usual. Then, as in the step shown by symbol 2, the fibers are conveyed in an upright manner with the fiber direction vertically, vertically or obliquely inclined. At this time, the relatively short veneer S may be conveyed vertically or obliquely as it is without being cut.

As a means of transporting the veneer S in an upright manner so that the fiber direction is the vertical direction, for example, the veneer S is pushed out from one side of the fiber direction to the other, only one end of the veneer S is dropped, and then the veneer S is This can be easily carried out in a form in which both the front and back sides of the veneer S are held and conveyed by a conveyor belt or the like. In addition, the term "oblique" as used in the present invention refers to an angle that is greater than or equal to the angle at which debris placed on the veneer S can naturally fall.

Next, these veneers S, which are conveyed vertically or obliquely and upright, are bent in a direction intersecting the conveying direction of the veneer S (perpendicular direction in the example), as in the step shown by symbol C. By turning the veneer S horizontally again, the fiber direction of the veneer S is changed.

The veneer S whose fiber direction has been changed in this way is inserted into a roll dryer 4 and dried, or a plurality of small width veneers S are combined into a group of veneers with a substantially constant width Sc.
It is supplied to a process such as a step in which the sheets are collected and inserted into a roll dryer 4 and dried, or a step in which the sheets are inserted into a cutting device 9 and cut into rectangles, and then inserted into a roll dryer 4 and dried.

The veneer processing method according to the present invention is carried out, for example, as described above, in which the veneer S is transported with the fiber direction vertically erected, and then the veneer S is bent at a desired angle and then overturned horizontally. By the way,
The fiber direction of the veneer S can be easily changed to a desired angle in an extremely narrow space.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2, for example, the fiber direction of the cross-splitting veneer Sa that is joined by the cross-splitting device 3 and transported horizontally in a direction orthogonal to the fiber direction is vertically, vertically, or diagonally. The veneer Sa is transported tilted upright, bent in a direction intersecting the transport direction, and then horizontally flipped again.

Therefore, even when the horizontally spun veneer Sa is directly inserted into the spreader 8 in a different processing direction,
Or, regardless of whether the veneer Sd is deposited once and inserted into the spretzer 8 at an appropriate time, the veneer Sd is laterally spun.
In order to change the fiber direction of Sa, a very rational processing form is adopted, and as in the above embodiment, it can be easily carried out in an extremely narrow space.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 3, for example, the fiber direction of the veneer S that is dried in a roll dryer 4 and transported in the same direction as the fiber direction is oriented vertically, and the veneer S is It is designed to be bent and transported, then toppled horizontally.
After the treatment, the veneer S is in a state in which the fiber direction is changed to a right angle, and is transported in a direction perpendicular to the fiber direction and supplied to the cross-splitting device 3. In such a case, as in the above embodiment, effects such as narrowing the transfer space can be obtained, and a rational processing form can be adopted.

In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, for example, the veneer S is dried in a continuous dryer 5 and transported in a direction perpendicular to the fiber direction, and the veneer S is transported with the fiber direction oriented vertically, and then supplied to the post-processing device 6. Of course, even in this case, although not shown in the drawings, the veneer S is bent and then overturned horizontally, and the fiber direction is adjusted to suit the post-processing device 6. can be easily converted into an extremely small space.

In the above embodiments, if necessary, each process can be connected by a conveyor or the like to perform continuous processing, and an even more rational processing form can be achieved.

Note that, prior to implementing the veneer processing method according to the present invention, for example, as illustrated in FIG. 1 or FIG. 2, using a known tenderizing device 7,
If the veneer S is subjected to a tenderizing process in advance and the veneer S is given flexibility, when the veneer S is erected, corrected from falling, or even bent, etc. This is effective because the treatment of the veneer S is facilitated, and damage caused by stress concentration or the like can be prevented or reduced.

Furthermore, as is well known, when manufacturing parallel plywood, for example, it is desirable to prevent warping, waving, etc. by regularly combining the surfaces of each veneer that have back cracks. There is a back crack Sb as shown in the direction of arrow a or b in Figure 1.
The side where the back crack Sb of each veneer S exists is turned over in such a way that the side where the back crack Sb exists is selectively separated upward or downward.
If it is carried out so that it is regularly combined, transported and deposited, the artificial combination processing, so-called mechanical processing, in the subsequent process can be omitted or greatly simplified, including the complicated reversal processing, which is effective. It is true.
