Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of an expandable boot in a protecting pipe connection part by constituting an intermediate shaft for transmitting a steering signal to be expandable at plural divided positions and allowing the air inside the protecting pipe of the intermediate shaft to flow over the whole. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate shaft 40 is constituted of a protecting pipe 46 and a real transmission shaft 42 which is made of metal and concentrically arranged inside the protecting pipe 46. In order to arrange the intermediate shaft along a car body, said intermediate shaft is constituted to be bendable at several positions. The peripheral wall part for supporting a bearing 60 among the contacting metal fittings 80 fixed onto the edge part of each protecting pipe 46 and the edge wall part extended to the protecting pipe divided body 46a side from the peripheral wall part 58a are formed into relatively thick, and a communication groove 80 for the air flow is formed on the peripheral wall part 58a and the edge wall part 58b, and the inside of the protecting pipe 46 is formed into communication form for the air flow over the whole length of the protecting pipe 46.
